Something wrong with the 109's/190's above 15,000 plus feet?

..Notice when luft'y in WarClouds go/come above 15,000 + feet..which is rare from what I notice...they seem to get beat.

The IL2 game was originally designed for the East front where the main action was ground pounding and defending/attacking ground pounders. So the flight models are less accurate at high altitude. I thought the flight model became totally useless above 10 000m so there should be a significant margin from 15 000ft.

However, most planes feel porked at high altitude since the lift is bad. I think it feels like manouvering in heavy sirup although it actually is the opposit.

I don't find luftwaffe aircraft to be rare at those altitudes (15,000ft ~ 4700m), everytime I'm tooling around at 5500m in Warclouds some Fw190D or late model 109 bounces me real good.

When flying them yourself, bear in mind that the speedbar and instrument panel are reading in indicated airspeed which is considerably below true airspeed at the more rarified altitudes.

Theres nothing wrong with them above that height, 15,000ft is still medium altitude where especially the FW190's are right at home and lots of guys fly at that height, even when going JABO.

S!,
You'll always find pilots on warclouds above 4km. The more skillful pilots are there waiting to dive down on the unexpecting. This is especially true of the exceptional p51 pilots like Exos, Mantis, Mastiff, Sprarx, etc. Additionally, these pilot fly just under contrail attitude (7km) as not to give away their positions. It's very challenging for those of us that fly around 4km/6km(fwA6). You have to have eyes in the back of your skull to keep from being bounced by these astronauts.

However, there are some very good 109/190 drivers that fly 'way up there' too. Ask the better p47 & p51 pilots and they'll tell you whom to look out for while at altitude.
