WOW, you mean, I finally get a first post/thread on a forum? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Anyway, among my favorites are the Zork series, Monkey Island series, Lightbringer (Cydonia), Homeworld and Quake (II and III). I pretty much stick to adventure games but I did love to play Quake on occasion. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Spider-man, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004, Sonic, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Goldeneye. Not that I have a console, but I like playing the last two games on my friend's Gamecube and N64.

Safecracker. Old game but is definitely a puzzle lovers feast. I believe all types of puzzles are found within those three floors. All the freinds I lend this game to love it.

Non-Adventure game would be the Smart Game series. Still puzzles, but no goal other than to finish.

Oh boy, there's so many...

Adventure/Puzzle:
Loom
Monkey Islands (all 4 of them)
Full Throttle
Sam & Max
Schizm
Incredible Machines (2 of them)
Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Supaplex (Never beat that game, it's SO hard)

Strategy:
Heroes 3&4 + expos
Starcraft (+ Brood War)
Warcraft (all 3 + 2 expos of them)
Dune 2 (The mother of all strategies)

The Legend of Zelda series (though, I don't have a Gamecube ::cries:: so no Wind Waker or OoT Master Quest for me)
^ I host a fairly popular site on the series, too, so, it's my next favorite after Myst.

Chrono Trigger
Super Smash Bros.
Final Fantasy 6
Harvest Moon (original and Friends of Mineral Town)
Secret of Mana
Sonic GBA games
Castlevania GBA games

Oh, I'm also a fan of old school:
Soul Blazer
Terranigma
Lemmings

Ok, those are about it for my ultimate faves. ^_^

Besides the Myst Series and not in any specific order...

Titanic: Adventure Out of Time
Zork Grand Inquisitor
The Forgotten: It Begins
Amerzone

There are a lot of games that I've played and liked, but for me, when it comes right down to it what's going to sell a game for me is story, or at least the hint of bigger things surrounding the story. Several of my favorite games are badly flawed (*cough*The Forgotten*cough*) and I'm aware of that, but they're my favorites anyway because they had plots that really captured my interest. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have played other games, but I have only posted my favorite ones.

Currently, I can do a very short list, and I will get this one:

* Simon the sorcerer. Currently, is the aventure game that I have played more.
* Atlantis III. I need to replay this one again, it was too wonderfull.
* Syberia. Short, but great.

I'm currently awaiting to Syberia 2 (still Not released in Spain http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif ) & currently playing/finishing Schizm II (I think that is too easy, some puzzles are long, but easy for now..)

Hey, good games.
Here are mine: Resident Evil and RE Zero (NGC); Chrono Trigger; Dune/Dune 2; Zelda (all of them, except Wind Waker...no depth); Gabriel Knight 1 and 3 (haven't played 2); Perfect Dark; Shivers 2; for DOS, Moraff's World; Jill of the Jungle; Jazz Jackrabbit.
This is the 14th year I have had computer/console access, so I really don't remember if there were any others. Too many videogames destroying brain cells when I was in elementary school I guess.

Wait, someone else has heard of 7th Guest http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif? No way.

Adventure: anything Zork, Schizm or Syberia.
Action: anything Half-Life or Doom.

And let's not forget those all-time classics, the LEMMINGS series! (I sure wish they'd rework these for Windows and put them on a CD.)

Well, until I hooked up with the Myst games I wasn't a big game fan.

The only game I'd played up till then was Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

I rarely used any of the hints or solutions and it took me years to play to the end.

Hmm ... for me I'd have to say :

The bust-a-move games - the nights I've spent playing those until the sun comes up

All things Sim - from SimTown to ALL of the SimCity games with SimCity 4 with Rush Hour being a total blast

As well as older classic Sims with SimTower still being a favorite

And of course ALL of the Sims up to and including Makin' Magic - these games are hilarious

Syberia I & II
Crystal Key II
Riddle of the Sphinx II - Omega Stone (this is a VERY cool game!)
Mysterious Journey II

Big Biz Tycoon
Theme Park Roller Coaster
Theme Hospital

Among others that refuse to spring to mind at the moment.

Had to laugh when I re-read my list ... I seem to swing from those games that require some serious use of the ol' grey matter, to games for the pure silly fun of it. I guess I can think of it as a vacation for my brain, as I often play the sillier games after a bout with a real brain buster.

ummm, well, you see, last time, Disasterville got hit by a meteor, which attracted an alien robot, which was metal, and caused lightning strikes which weakened the ground and cause an earthquake which started volcanic activity, which was topped off by 7 tornados. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif In case you can't tell, in 4, my cities dont get much past 250,000. I think 300,000 is my record, but in order not to run out of money, it was destroyed http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

My favorite non-mystgames:
- Systemshock 2 and hopefully this winter 1.
- Thief 1, 2 and 3 and the many good fanmade missions!
- Monty python and the holy grail
- Hype
- Deus ex 1

An oldy I still play often is Block out.

And from way back in spectrum time: Attic Attack

I must confess that, as Myst was the first computer game I'd ever played, I could never drum up interest in any non-Myst games (I think I was spoiled!)

But, when URU Live passed on just before I was about to get my new computer allowing me to play it, I filled the void with Runescape, and I really like it! Silly, huh?

But that's it...

Let's see.....
DESCENT RULES!
descent 2 stinks.
DESCENT 3 RULES!
MARATHON RULES!
Every worms game EVER MADE rules!

But of course, Myst takes the cake.

The top of my list is Obsidian. I used to play the old style text - based adventure games like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, as well. Then came Myst and Riven, Exile, Uru, and now Revelation/

Heh, I used to also write those old type text based adventure games, too. I was probably one of the first people to write a role playing adventure game based on "Robotech". When it first came out I immediately recognized the potential, and wrote a text adventure game where you got to be Rick Hunter and were trapped inside the SDF-1 with Minmay and had to find your way out, or die. Essentially a first person version of 'Macross- Do You Remember Love?' I sent it off to Harmony Gold, which produced the Robotech series, and didn't hear from them for almost a year. I finally got a letter back saying my submission had been lost when they moved their headquarters and had been recently been discovered: "Unfortunately, we have already made plans..." Bla bla bla... actually I'd have been happy if they had given me twenty bucks and included it as a give away item for some promotion. Now I see all the graphical games for game consoles, and computers, and sigh.

"The sere and yelow leaf....what could have been..." Since then, gotta admit all these new-fangled gameing engines and development tools have left me (and text-based adventure) in histories dust http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/cry.gif

I'm a total Mystifile but sometimes I like to get the **** scared out of me with Doom. Or shoot & jump & go nuts with Unreal Tournament. I liked Dark Fall & have Syberia 1 to play until MystIv comes out... When is that anyhow?

Morrowind, by far: Great game, great community, easily modifiable, open-ended. I like it more than I like the Myst games.

I also play Kohan, Star Fleet Command, and Heroes of Might & Magic III. I once played a lot of RTS games -- Warcraft, Age of Empires -- but got bored with those a while back.
