Last week I ordered AEP and PF from Amazon. PF arrived on Saturday but today I got an email from Amazon saying they couldn't get AEP. I already own AEP but its the lite version (no manual). Does anyone know where I can get a full retail version of AEP in the UK? Why did Ubi stop publishing this disc when there is so much demand for it?

My retail version didn't come with any manual, as its an expansion pack for FB. Taylortony has a few copies of AEP for sale. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m...971037993#2971037993 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/9321000483/r/2971037993#2971037993)

Thanks for the reply Steve_v. The version I have is distributed by Focus. It only cost about 5 and I assumed that was because there is no printed manual. In the link you sent Taylortony states the manual is in German, isnt that a printed manual?

My UK manual (leaflet) has only 3 pages discounting install info and the controls section.
These deal with listing the new planes and maps, and campaign types. Nothing more than this...and all this is in the PF/FB manuals (in the FB or PF main game folder as a PDF file -you need Acrobat Reader to open it).

All you need to know:

"New ships: destroyer Tashkent, Destroyer type 7/1944, M-boat, Battleship Tirpitz.
Note: these ships are made for use on the European maps for the creation of new missions ex. Destroyer type7/1944 is designed to be used by allies. M-boat for Germany"

Nothing more is new as far as I can see.

Then I am just a cheap sllllllluuuuuuu...... as I will do one for you at about 7.00 and its new.. dont worry about the maual as there is nothing in it, heck i could upload the English PDF file for you if you really want it.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The lite version you have bought is the new budget label version and if you explore the cd i think you may well find the manual in pdf file, if not i bet it installs it in the game folder, I would not be suprised if explore found the patches as some late versions of IL2 I believe had them on it

I'm sorry but I don't understand...you want the maunual only? It's not worth the effort even, really.
I'm sorry but I will be keeping the CD/game if that's what you meant.

I was joking http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I'm looking for a new disc to keep as a spare, because I'm sure I'll wear out the one I've got. I've already got a spare FB and I want to have two of each of the discs in the series.

YES and YES as said German packaging and manual but disc is the same........ have a couple of well satisified customers already that have bought them, one in UK and one in Switzerland.. they are new and unopened still sealed in their cellophane wrappers....

I dont do rip offs clones or anything else like that, I bought them in bulk as I was helping a mate out as he didn't have the facilities to buy them abroad and as the shipping was the same price for one or five and the price was right... I knew others would be in his situation so I would be able to sell those I didn't need on.... I am not even making a profit, simply passing them on at cost....... what a nice person I am, i couldn't sleep nights selling them at the price that guy has one on Amazon....

I purchased AEP in the US the week it came out. My version consisted of:
- Colorful, glossy cardboard 'mini box' exterior.
- Plain brown cardboard liner.
- CD "jewel case" with booklet inside front cover. One CD-ROM disc held in the case.
- Cardboard fold-out glossy key reference card.

The jewel case booklet's text didn't offer much new information and what was written was prepared well before AEP went 'gold' and thus some of the information was erroneous. If I remember correctly it said that the Bf110 and B-25 were AI only (and there were no B-25s in AEP 2.0) until the cockpits could be finished; in reality the Bf-110 was completed just in time for release so there was a cockpit for it in v2.0. The booklet may have outlined how to implement the SPB, Mistel and V-1 launchers in missions but most of the booklet was about how to install AEP.

My AEP box and case are in storage somewhere or else I'd quote directly from the booklet. I now keep all five of my game discs in my Pacfic Fighters case, which is made of plastic and has space for about six discs. I reinstalled FB+AEP just yesterday so my version is fresh and there is no .PDF of the manual in my directory. There is a word document named "Readme" in the main directory that was installed by AEP and covers various features of the game.

Look on Forgotten Battles disc #2 for a folder named "MANUAL." This contains several .PDF documents including a basic manual and an advanced manual. It also has a folder with printable versions of FB's maps.

The Ace Expansion Pack does not have a similar MANUAL or maps folder or any .PDF documents that I can find.

'Merged' Pacific Fighters will install a copy of the PF manual (in .PDF format) into your game directory that is exactly the same as the 70-page printed manual that comes in the box. PF also installs a .PDF copy of the PF key reference card. I can't find any other materials like printable maps in the game directory or on the PF CD-ROMs.
