Original Il2 for you if $$$ is an issue..a copy is around $5-$10...and median comp. hdwe will run it at higher res. You can download patches for it from this website.

If you have a nice rig - you should get Forgotten Battles / Aces expansion pack combo.

The patches can also be aquired from this site.. see "Downloads" on the home page.

Look up 'Joysticks' in this forum for all threads about those. The best is MS Sidewinder Pro..but the ones from CH products are good if you have the $$

The best advice on flying these sims and for getting the max performace settings for your rig will be found on this forum.

johhny boy -

Get Forgotten Battles with the Aces Expansion

sold as a combo...then patch it up to 2.04v

in sequence as listen on the 'downloads' page.

You will want to get more RAM eventually...this sim loves 1-2 Gigs of RAM.

JohnnyBoy,

Tip: Get the original IL-2 first, check it out, have fun with it. And after a while get FB, and later on AEP, BoE etc. All this in order to have the same experience as 'we' have had.... This way you will appreciate the changes and expansions to the newer versions even more.
