After reading threads about Nazis in space, moon bases, and aliens. . .
And seeing "The Right Stuff" recently/again. . .
I thought I play around with the Me163 a little.

I simulated a mother ship release using 10,000 meter start on the Quick MB. Hit the jets and pointed the nose to the stars. You can almost feel the clunk of the release (I asume it's the wheels breaking away).

All realism except external views. I reached an altitude of 49,400 meters. The limiting factor is fuel of course. How efficiently you climb is the challenge.

So there it is 49,400 meters. Who's going to raise the bar? I took a screenshot, but since I've reached 63,000 meters with unlimited fuel, what's the point. We'll just have to trust the honor system.

Have a nice glide back to earth.

Screenshot is good if you also capture the "Out of fuel" message.... it wont be there with "Limited Fuel" turned off http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well Here's my 3rd attempt:
Yager-type launch to make it look cool, (I just flew under the B29.)

It just wouldnt go any higher for me. No indication I ever ran out of fuel, but I just shut down anyway at 73900.

I think that my record was over 70 000m high, after I dived and reached 2000km/h http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

The problem is that I crash every time,.................but I like that http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Oh ya man it's really hard not to die coming down from that high. I blew up a couple times from exceeding Vne. I had to be very careful and patient and use very small corrections while keeping the nose up. My hand was cramping cause the trim wouldnt work. The ASI I think was inacurate in the thin air, I just kept the nose up and never stalled or snap rolled so I was ok. I dont think Ill mess with that space ship one Komet stuff anymore. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I think the highest I every tried was about 50,000 meters. Then I went into a straight dive and tried to see how fast I could go and see if I could catch up to my bullets.... needless to say I blew up in the process. But it was fun.
