I have been flying HL now for about 1 month and I am ready to start using teamspeak or whatever is the most popular com out there. My question is how do I get hooked up with everyone else using teamspeak? I am not part of a squad, so is it possible for me to connect with everyone? I have not seen any info about coms in any of the servers I have been flying. I have flown 334th, JG_oldies(?), UK_dedicated and some others. Mainly the ones that allow outside views, icons etc, etc. Can anyone help me with this?

Velcro, I just started flying on-line a couple of weeks ago, and I had a hard time with Team Speak when I first tried to use it (I am VERY computer stupid). T_O_A_D gave me a wonderful tutorial on setting up Team Speak. It's not too hard to do if you follow his directions. All the specifics he uses in it are EXAMPLES ONLY, you will need the IP and password for each server you wish to use. If you need any more info, I'll try to help. You can find the IP and password for the servers on their web pages.

Good luck! See you (and hear you)
on-line.

UK-Dedicated runs its own TS server for use on UK-D. Check in the first screen you cometo when you get to the server (the rules and such)...the details should be there.

Same with Warclouds and presumably other servers.

Cool, I can't wait to try it. I think I'm at a disadvantage without it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

At least it beats typing while trying to fly http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Just be aware that you will not be able to speak to everyone flying in a server if they are not connected to the same TS server that you are.

But it does make a HUGE difference when you have a team mate to chat too, especially when you're smoking, low on fuel, your wings half shot up and you're being chased http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The game has comms built in.

They are good, despite the propaganda which people spout.

How do you use the built in coms and does anyone on HL or UBI use them? I knew they were there but never tried to use them.

I have never used them, and I don't know how many do, but to try it start up FB/PF go to "Hardware Setup", then to "Sound", then to "Radio". You will find the controls there. There are instructions on page 10 of the Pacific Fighters manual on the specifics.
