How do I stop DGen writing a new log after every mission? At the moment logs are created in the PF root folder after every campaign game, with the name DGen2.log, DGen3.log, etc. I don't want hundreds of these log files in there.

Regarding logs, at the moment my conf.ini has the lines:

[game]
eventlog=eventlog.lst
eventlogkeep=0

[console]
LOG=0
LOGTIME=0
LOGFILE=logfile.log
LOGKEEP=0

and my [DGen] section for version 3129beta looks like this:

;Both versions (FB and PF)
NoAirfieldHighlight
CampaignAI=Hard ; Easy, Normal, Hard
CampaignMissions=Normal ; Easy, Normal, Hard
MissionDistance=30 ; between 0 and 300km
CampaignLength=Short ; VeryShort, Short, Medium, Long, VeryLong (VeryLong is default)
GroundIntensity=Medium ; Low, Medium, High
AirIntensity=Medium ; Low, Medium, High (PF maps=controls random flights, AEP maps=in general)
SlowFire=10.0 ; Ship-flak rate. between 0.5 and 100.0 (1=historic, default=5.1)
;NoBadWeather

; AEP only
RandomFlights=8 ; flights unconnected with your mission
MaxBomberSkill=2 ; between 0 and 3
MaxFLAK=20 ; possibly 'Battle over Europe' add-on only
;NoActiveFrontline ; likely 'Battle over Europe' add-on only

;Pacific Fighters only
OperationVictory=100
OperationDefeat=-100
WarVictory=1000
WarDefeat=-1000
;UseParachutes ;Japanese have chutes from start of war

I assume I need to add a line to conf.ini somewhere?
Thanks.

*Bump*
Maybe Starshoy stopped coming around here? SimHQ a better place to post?

Perhaps these logs are for de-bugging, because DGen 3129 is a still being tested?

I've got the same thing happening...also there is currently a "Dgen patch allowing more planes in early war campaigns but I've no ideawhere to put its destination as I have no dgen file as such only dgen info in config file & dgen logs and a dgen.exe.?What to do?

The latest version of DGen is 3130:
!!!!!THIS IS A NON-PUBLIC BETA!!!!!
SimHQ Forum Thread (http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=114;t=002084)

In the zip file you should have lots of .db, .dat and .mis files in it,
and one file called dgen.exe. The dgen.exe goes in the FB/PF root folder
and overwrites the existing one. The other files all go in the 'Dgen'
folder (which is in your FB/PF directory), overwriting the existing files.

There are quite a lot of campaign fixes so far, but it is not a stable release yet.

Just to finish off the thread, and answer the original problem (log files created every game), Starshoy told me on SimHQ that only three log files are made, and then they are 'recycled'. This is a normal feature now, not just because it's a beta DGen. So don't worry like I did, your PF folder is not going to be full of hundreds of DGen logs.
