There are alot of things that look so insanely awesome in this game... but some things catch my eye that could get on somones nerves. Such as the sliding between people in the crowd theres a lot of space to move freely. No reason to slide between a guy and ten feet of open space. What they could do is make your character have a sort of ragdoll engine whilst in the crowd. Well anyways just leave some things that you think look really cool and not so cool who knows maybe SOMONE might read this and get some ideas

Welcome to next-gen. A promise in this new era is crowd... Just like in real life.
The NPCs play a very important part in the game... they make it resemble reality.

Ubisoft is working on having hundreds of NPCs simultaneously. You won€t always have to get people out of your way... but in many moments, it will be crucial.

I think all this will never get on my nerves, because that€s one of the things I€m looking forward on doing... and that€s interacting with the crowd... regardless if their near or in a distance.

Sure its easy when you are sneaking within the crowd far off from your target that you would have ten feet of space but it will be essential when you are near your target and you will have to move within the crowd not to get noticed. think also about Post assassination when people are all over the place screaming and trying to block your way .....

... what he is saying is that there is a big space and an npc, he like slides past the npc when he could just walk in the big space.

Indeed, however you need to remember that all the video footage you have seen so far is in an unfinished state, one of the last things that happens when a game is developed is fixing the "collision" peramiters. In normal terms it means that the game is up and running and hasnt been perfected yet, this includes simple things like distance from NPC's and the main character.

I find it hard to belive that a team that has THIS much insight into what people are looking for and this much tallent would release a final version of the game where your pushing people out of they way when you could easly slip past them.

That said, im glad they have added this feature to the game, personaly im really sick of being able to run thru a throng of people and have absolutly no reaction or collision rate, or worse yet, the games where the collision perameters nill and just to make the game "make sence" they impliment a standard animation that happens every time you touch an NPC or object. (Remember 'Ocarina of Time' when you were riding the horse and it wasnt going fast enough to jump a fence?) the game would ALWAYS play the same animation, your horse would rear up and neigh, yah...great, cuz that didnt get annoying!

The point is its a welcome change, heck anything that adds more realisim is welcome.

he slides past npc's in order to better conceal himself, instead of walking in a large open space where his target might look and notice him http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/metal.gif

Well if you had a NPC on your right and a large open space on your left it becomes up to you as the player to make the decision between sliding past or moving through the open space. He would slide past because you have made Altair move straight forward near the NPC instead of moving him to the left around the NPC.

The game cannot and should not manage every single different possibility, it needs to come down to what the player wants to do sometimes.

I kind alike the crowd idea. I'f I'm an Assassin trying to blend in, going at the enemy from a massive open space dosent seem like the way to go.
