I can't help with your problem but write a ticket to ubisoft support, including that picture. They might help http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

There is a similar Topic and thread, discussing about Assassin's Creed Brotherhood [PC] Connection issues. You can go through these links, if you wish:

For that connection problem (picture), you have to delete the "Hosts" file as it says on the link that KingDaniel0 posted here. Follow this path in Windows Explorer: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc, delete the hosts file and try the game again.

How did you opened ports for multiplayer? It was on Windows or by Portforward?
When I've tried on Portforward I had no results, but then I opened port 7917 on Windows and now it's great. The steps were like this (don't know if you already done this):

1- Use the search function to open the command box called cmd
2- In the command box write ipconfig
3-Search for your ipv4 adress
4-Open the Network folder(if it isn't in your desktop go to your computer and look at the left bar it should be in the button(windows vista/7)
4-There should be a icon with your router's name, right click it and select properties
5-In the general tab click in the settings button
6- Click in the Add button and do this:
6.1-Chose a name for the service
6.2-Write your ipv4 adress
6.3-Write 7917 in both ports
6.4-Repeat the 3 previous steps but change the port type to UDP
7-It should be finished but check if the ports are there after you restart the router or the pc since for most of the cases i have seen it they are gone after that.

PS: Don't make the mistake of writing the ipv6 or the gateway's adress

Hope this can help you. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

If deleting the "hosts" file didn't work, then I don't know what else you can do. Maybe someone here on the forums can help you in other way, since Ubi Support don't answer you.

About the MP issue, have you seen if you have UPnP enabled? It seems that is essential too.
For me the "checking for updates" message only lasts a few seconds, like 3 or 4, and I never had that error on MP. Have you tried to re-install the game? Don't know if it's a good solution, but maybe it could fix something.

I would like to help you more, but I really don't know how. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

This may be a bit of a necro-post, but I wanted to thank Saikotek for creating that concise, effective (at least for me)guide on forwarding ports. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

What was originally a minimum 45 minute wait for me to join an MP session (only to be kicked off or disconnected) is now a speedy 5 minute or less wait. Sometimes I can't even run to grab a soda because it finds a session that fast.

Just a tip for other gamers out there: If your router/network adapter has been shut down or was restarted, you will most likely need to reapply those forwards...I did.

I can't help with picture problem, but that u only find 1/6 players....
That is normal, they screwd the PC online version, they already know this for a realy long time and don't do anything.
