I recommend that you buy the final add on when it is released. Even if yiou do not particularly care for the eastern or western fronts..... having the entire merged sim will give you a lot more versatility as far as which servers you can and cannot fly in and I can almost gaurantee you that once 46 is released that everyone will get it and be running 4.07m. PF standalone servers will be harder to find than virgins over 30.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Minimum system would be probably like last year good system for IL-2 series. The simulation has gone from what was to be a study sim involving one aircraft to a real monster anthology of WWII aviation. The engine has been stretched to fit multi-engined bombers, aircraft that are linked (such as the Mistel and the TB-3/I-16 combinations), aircraft carriers, runway cratering, working searchlights, etc.

Thanks,
Yes I played a little on <b style="color:black;background-color:#a0ffff">UBI[/b] yesterday, but there were like 6 people in there. Wow I go away for 2-3 years and it seems the flight sim community has gone to pot. I enjoy CFS2 immensely, but alas it seems to have died out.
Which begs the next question - what is everyone playing these days? CFS3? My CFS2 squadron - the VF2 Rippers said that they were playing PF. But that was at least a year ago. Someone please bring me up to date! I would like to find the right squadron and the right flight sim.
PF is pretty good although harder in some ways. It sounds like I have to wait for the 1946 deal. Thanks for the Hyperlobby tip, cheers.

IL-2 and F2004. Some play X-Plane and assorted jet (combat) sims too, but about those you most certainly know at least as much as I do, which is nothing http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Well, I've tried X-Plane once or twice - a mate of mine has it - but that's it...

And yes, it seems that CFS2 and 3 have both died out. M$ released FS10 a week ago or so, however, but the verdict so far is extremely thumbs down AFAIK.

Welcome back at any rate, and do as BearCat said: get the whole nine yards because that's the way to go nowadays. HTH http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

You could hear us on the runway with the throttles trough the gate.
Get up, you big black basket, we're twenty minutes late
And we've got to bomb the Ruhr in the moonlight.

Very good to see you still around Roku. VF2 has transitioned to PF. We fly mostly coop missions on IP. Unfortunately we all run the merged version of IL2-AEP-PF. Sure would be reat to fly with you again http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Snowman you did NOT just say the MERGED version did you? Oh **** I have standalone updated, ok, well this will take a little work to find the one remaining piece of the puzzle which is AEP. I will get to it pronto. Yeah I could not find much about VF2 on the popular sim sites and I was wondering what the deal was.
I'm so rusty at flying that you will need to give me lots of room, especially on take off. I'll be on maybe after Oct 20th, but for sure I am here for a good while. Thanks for the comments. Cheers.

Thanks, see you guys some time before end of October. I know I have IL2 installed and it might have the AEP expansion with it. Checked the VF2 site and it looks like you have 10-12 people, and I plan on taking you up on the offer to be in VF2 again...yay!

been hearing good things about the campaign - but a web search turned up nothing!

does anyone know where in North America to find it?

also - if you can recommend any other good add on campaigns, I'm looking to fly as German on Russian front.

Wings over jungles, Wings over Waves and Rebirth of Honour are all by the same maker. It looks like Flying Legends only has Rebirth of Honour in stock:

http://flying-legends.net/store/index.php?cPath=21

They are made by Pluswave, you can order them directly from them using Paypal (maye also by credit card). The Pluswave site and shop:
http://www.pluswave.de/html/pwx_english.html

i see they link to Gogamer in the US as a retailer of their games.

http://www.gogamer.com/searchresults.htm?keywords=wings...ue&categoryId=455137 (http://www.gogamer.com/searchresults.htm?keywords=wings+over+jungles&brandId=&price=&653Search=true&categoryId=455137)

http://www.gogamer.com/

Simware do fedex delivery of the games in Europe (at least). I have used this company, they are fast and reiable but expensive:

(Look under Forgotten Battles/pacific fighters add-on if this doesn't link to that page):

For the Russian front have a look at Rebirth of Honour by Pluswave. More info :

It generally takes a while for the entire squad to get up to speed with pay-for addons so we will probably fly 4.05m for a while. Some of us will fly multiple versions until then.
