I notice a friendly in the same kite and think "Hrm, I'll form up on his right wing. Maybe i'll learn something.".

Full throttle, 100% pitch, for 20 minutes. Hard turns, black-out loops, and an attempt to take the fight down low.

???

C'mon man. Remember these rules?

1. speed is life!
2. altitude is life!

This was on a Almost-Full-Real server. I expect to learn something on these servers, so if you are going to join them, please fly sensibly, especially if someone forms up on you.

PS: horses like a bit of flap down low. dont stay there though. its stupid to fly a powerfull bird like that.

Say, who are you to dictate the fashion in which another individual should fly a computer game?

Who cares what you think? I know i don't.

Why is this thread even here?

Baldie, my first thought would be...perhaps they're newer to the game than you are. Perhaps they don't know the rules...

Sorry... what rules? Does someone have to fly "your way" to be kosher online?

Easy there buster...

If I type it "the rules" will that prevent your delicate sensibilities from being offended?

Oh, and anyone flying "my way" is probably only one step above crashing, as I suck.

Alot of participants on these servers don't know what it means to have someone to form up with them. I don't think everyone that flies here has been schooled in the eticates of tactics and therefore do not know how to react if someone forms up with them. First thing that I'd do is inform them via chat that you are forming on their wing. If they don't have a prob with that, then go on and ask if they know how to fly with a wingman. If they respond that they have never flown with a wingman, ask if you can take the lead. Most will be glad to accept that offer in hopes to learn from it. I know I would. Just a suggestion to alleviate any hard feelings towards anyone that doesn't know better. S!

Did you let him know you were planning on being his wingman?
That's the first thing you should've done.

Also, not everyone flies conventional. I know I don't.

Winging someone is an easy way to get yourself killed.

The key to survival is controlling your own destiny, not following in someone else's footsteps.

Of course 2 friends can do good if they wing and go high, but you can also do that on your own (go high)

If I ever get in trouble, I just head for the clouds (like a fish hides in the reef)

Its this sort of thing that scares people away from playing online tbh.

Still you don't scare me /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I always roll to get closer to my wingman and they always seem to then appear above me weird. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The issue is not 'winging'. The issue is 'tossing out logic'.

Stay fast, stay high. These are the rules.

Baldie..I hear you. I try to join up with people but as soon as combat air manuvers that help the planes you're flying are thrown out I break off and go solo again.

Whats worse is when you are asked to clear someones tail...or not even, you are doing it to help them and they, flying a energy fighter, go low, slow, and attempt to out turn the opponent. Better yet, while they complain you aren't helping, they turn into your attack thus putting the guy you are shooting at out of your attack and forcing you to go around.

Still, the point can also be made that they are flying just the same as you, leave them be. But lets ensure that its not a double standard...if you want your tail cleared don't complain if the guy clearing your tail can't help because you won't let him.

Fly solo, team up when you can http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Where are these rules? Stay high and fast? Why?
You stay high and fast, I stay low and fast and waste those ground targets everytime.

Here is another rule. Leaders lead, and wingmen follow.

You are faster than a tank.
You are higher than a tank.

Clearly, you *should* be able to waste ground targets. You are FASTER and HIGHER than your enemy.

Faster and/or higher wins. If you have both, you can stay untouchable.
