Just set up a QMB flight involving my intrepid flight of four lend-lease Hurri IIb's escorting four Su-2's attacking a bridge at low level.

Being keen to test out how good the R/T commands are, I set a flight of four Bf-109 E-7's against my brave boys and set all planes to average......

True to form, I became fixated on what I took to be the Hun flight leader and promptly collided with his wingman just as the Su's demolished the target (bridge) below us in a fireball which added to my own explosive demise should make a nice screenshot. It was then that the real action started. With nothing left for me to do but spectate, I watched the Su's take out the remaining 109's while the three Hurri's failed miserably to get in on the act before heading for home and leaving the Su's to it, chasing down the unfortunate Messers and sending them down with their wing-mounted guns.

Going to set up a few more missions with these chaps involved - I like what I've seen so far..... they even managed to save enough ammo to play with the Storch I put in for a distraction - killing it after several passes.

This has got me curious about the real 'plane's capabilities - anyone got any info?

Second this!

As far as I've read the SU-2 was used to compliment the Il-2 on attack runs.

They're very effective in the FMB against ground targets. I use them a lot - sometimes the IL2s are just too heavily armored for the Luft to take on, especially in the early war years. And a lot of other planes that 'can' carry A2G ordinance like the LaGG and LA5 will drop it as soon as they spot enemy aircraft. But the Su2 does a great job.

If anyone has some good history / info links on this plane I'd love to read them.

I,uh,"third" this. I'd love to see the Su-2 flyable. One thing though, people might not take kindly to the title of this thread. You mean well, but people don't like demands./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I didn't know about this Su2 equipped aircraft carrier...Krasnoye Znamya

REMOVE the "Z" in "../furashZit.." cos UBI did not like the correctly spelled link.

btw, WARNING... some search engines looking for Su-2 give endless Su-27 links so use Google cos it worked fine or goto LOMAC forum if thats what you want.

/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif It's a what if site, written to describe a wargame fleet!

SSSR never had operational aircraft carriers during WWII...

Try to read F U R A S H I T A as japanese do, changing "R" with "L"... And you'll anderstand that:

It's a fictional fleet

That's why UBI forum engine rejects the name... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
