Hi,

I have a AMD dual core cpu, 4 megs ram, XFX 4870 1 gig card and windows 7 professional. When i play splinter cell conviction the game crashes after a few minutes, and i have to do a reset reboot on my pc. I installed the 1.02 patch but still crashes. Can someone please help me.

I have the exact same issue. The game freezes, then blacks out completely. Sometimes, the game will recover after a few minutes of the black screen, but usually it doesn't recover and a hard reset is needed. I've updated to 1.02 patch with the same result. Running on Windows 7 x64, tried to set the game to run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista (SP2) with the same result. Please help, thanks.

I had the same problem, I have an ATI too... It happened to me with the 10.3 drivers, then I downloaded the 10.4 drivers and never happened to me again.
So... try downloading the last drivers for your gpu.

Good luck!!

I think this is an ATI issue (drivers). I was having this issue with the latest 10.4 drivers for my HD3870 X2. I updated to the 10.4a Preview Drivers (which ATI promises to fix this problem) and it seemed to fix the problem. The problem did eventually come back, but its far less frequent. Sigh... another ATI crap driver story.

Try their 10.4a Preview drivers:

I installed the 10.4a driver and the games runs smoothly now, no stutter issues anymore. Its still crashes at some time, says something about a screen dump, and i have to do a full reset reboot.

Hopefully with the new ATI driver things will be sorted out.

You mean 4 gigs (GB) of RAM... Or 4096MB. If you only had 4MB you wouldn't even be able to load windows... Or ny other operating sytem less than 15 years old :P

think it may be the same problem i had, and the solution i have found, is that you have to activate your administartor account in windows 7 and play it with that, my game crash too, and i could not get to close the game, and had to log off or reboot, so try this

you can activate admin account with going ind to cmd, remeber to run cmd as admin and type net user administrator /active:yes, then the administrator account is artive and you can log off and log on it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
