Tonight flying on JG-Oldies server I took a flight in a 190 w an egg under its belly. Intended to take out one of the enemy ships. On my way over I met this Beau comin in low. I rolled over and dove on it. Got into shooting distance and opened up on him. But as I suck on shooting http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif from this plane I couldnāĀ“t stop him from unloading his payload on one of our ships.

He broke of to left and I followed shooting as good as I could. Suddenly I saw a friendly(to me) fighter turn towards us...A ****ed shoulder shooter, I thought. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif Imagin how surpriced I was when I saw him place himself slightly above right of me and just follow us without shooting. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif
He followed us in the chase in and out of clouds without interfering in the battle. I only managed to cripple the Beau slightly before I got out of ammo. Realising I couldnāĀ“t do any more harm http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif I broke off right and left the Beau. The other guy took my braking off as a sign to finish the Beau(whitch was the intention from my side) and shot him to pieces with a couple of bursts. During the whole episode I had kept my bomb and sunk a ship with it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
Salute to you anonymous wingie. It was a pleasure to fly with you! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

It does happen. The other night in Hyperlobby (334th Server..........very good fun) a fellow pilot came to my assistance and destroyed my attacker, whilst keeping me informed of his progress.

After that we flew some of the session together looking out for each other as wingmen do, it made the whole experience most enjoyable, and also meant I could return the favour a time or two. It was quite pleasant riding shotgun for a change, looking out for stray pilots wanting to down my 'leader'. There are pilots out there who don't always 'steal kills'.

Been there, done that, doing it again as soon as I get the chance. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I love the feeling I get when I dive down and scare someone off a friendly's 6. I suck at air combat, but I like the fact that even if I can't shoot anyone down I can at least scare them.

Pitty that it's something special, still. Gladly I made some very good experiences on WarClouds. Though the planeset could be better, there is no server (except COOPs) that has more teamplay. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Its rare to see such behavior. But I do partake in that. If I do get at all involved in the fight, I'll stay in behind and keep the attacker covered.

Its so much more effective.

Nice to see thereāĀ“s a number of you who behave well http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif

I wish this would be standard in online playing, it really would ad something to it.

lol, usually when I'm just playin around on a cockpit only server I go to the enemy airfield and if there's no flak I secretly form up on the enemy and its funny as hell for me. Then once he starts getting uncooperative I end him http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

It really makes the difference, I was flying on line the other night and got teamed up with another pilot flying spits, it was totally different and made the hole thing far more intense, having to type and fly and keep track of where everything is happening. I think the folks who use teamspeak and the likes must have loads of fun.

Just last night, on WC, I was at 12K plus flying along happy as a clam. A team mate, BSS_CUDA, was climbing to join. I vectored him in and as he approached he asked who my wing man was. I replied I was flying alone. He asked "are you sure?" A quick look behind me revealed a 109 tucked tightly on my 5 o'clock. And I mean tucked in close! Let's just say I left coordinated flight for a bit..lmao. The bandit didn't shoot or pursue. I don't know if he intentionally played follow the leader or if he somehow did not recognize that I was not a friendly. He had me dead to rights if he wanted. It was funny after I made it back to base but somewhat heart pounding when it happened. Moral of the story? Don't get complacent while on patrol.

Hi Fin.

I never "shoulder-shoot" when online, but I love to watch a good fight . . . no, it wasn't me as I haven't been online in ages. I'm much more into seeing my side win a match than I am into getting kills. I never interfere with a good fight unless my mate gets into trouble. If he runs out of ammo I'll do as your mate did and take over the fight . . .

. . . invariably at this point someone from my team will fill me full of holes trying to get that kill from behind me. Did I mention that I don't fly online much anymore?
