Here's an article that has some disheartening news.....

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/...leaving-for-thq.aspx (http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/01/13/more-ubisoft-talent-leaving-for-thq.aspx)

and the original article it quotes....

It might not be a good sign for AC or Ubisoft but this is good news for the rest of us because it shows that Patrice is working hard on something new and, if it's anything like his previous work, recruiting his old associates for the job is an indication that he knows what he's doing. I'm looking forward to see what he has in store.

I know, positive thoughts coming from me. Weird huh?

I agree. I just hope we can have more than one good game. Two thriving series would be nice.

Prince's Creed and Assassins of Persia.

Actually, if he goes by Machiavelli's The Prince for the former and focuses heavily on stealth for the latter, they don't sound half bad.

Also giving that the Prince of Persia series basically spawned Assassin's Creed with the Parkour moves and fighting.

This news make sense. I wouldn't be surprised if these three folks(as well as Desilets himself)left Ubisoft because they were dissatisfied with the way the gaming company is. Ubisoft seems to have plenty of "issues", and the company is losing stocks. So....I guess it is what it is.

wow I thought this would have happened a long time ago. It all reminds me a little bit of the infinity ward thing. I can't wait to see what patrice has going on. If Ubisoft keeps up with this whole annual AC crap and Patrice really does come out with yet another amazing game I may shift my loyalty over to THQ. I love AC but I have a feeling Ubisoft is going to destroy it.

Agreed. With the downfall of stealth since the first one (especially considering this is a game where you are an Assassin, and the advance of way too confusing twists in the storyline, I could see them torpedoing it in the last game...they should have never released Brotherhood.

A different person working on the franchise doesn't necessarily mean a worse franchise. I am cautiously optimistic that the game will continue on and I am hoping that it continues to get better.

It's always sad to see people leave - however I am sure AC will continue http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Now AC series will be all non-original idea like..
Ubisoft should stop being ubisoft and be ubihard!

I am sure they will still have a great team to write the next game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well until I see proof of that I'm agreeing with Windrius here.

After The Two Thrones, Prince of Persia got a new different team. Look how it turned, worse obviously.

sounds like the mods know something we don't

Great, either assassin's creed will be rebooted or the exact same plot/characters will be sold to another game.

Stuff like this can be reallllly bad for a franchise, just look at the cancellation of Force Unleashed 3, and someone mentioned about Prince of Persia...theres other similar example and its definitely a bit unsettling BUT I have a feeling a lot of the meat & bones of the AC series are already in place, as far as gameplay mechanics, AND i suspect story-wise too.

I doubt the mods know anything more than we do, its their job to reassure us the franchise ISNT going to decay. I dont really think it will, but its possible...dev team changes definitely matter

For proof of this I'll just point to the F.E.A.R. series and Kane & Lynch 1 vs 2.
