I was wondering if any body knew how the Fm's in il2 work? is there a singal FM that all planes are based on? i remember hearing some thing about the origanally being desinged for only the IL2 so are all planes modled after that
(like for exsample IL2 roll +100% stability -65% accel +150% would give us the FW-190?)

or are there individuall FM's for each air craft or is there one FM per family of aircraft then they are tweaked for each ver.?

I have read that the planes share a common FM that is tweaked to try and simulate within reason how a plane will respond. (This is what I have read) It was said, drag for example is raised or lowered for another plane. Things like that. Each plane does not have its own seperate FM from what I can tell from reading about it. It makes sense and would explain some of the strange behaviour of the planes. It also said they all share the same weight. Again, this is what I read. Thats the reason the planes seem to glide forever or some are difficult to slow down when landing. It seems logical, but I cant say for a fact. I think you are fairly close in your assessment though.

Opportunity may only knock once, but temptation just keep's on knocking.

Interesting question. I'd love to know this also and as previously stated could be the reason for strange FM behaviour. One thing, I remember Oleg stating that IL2 & FB aircraft don't use FM Tables, though I'm not so sure why this would be such a bad thing.

Intresting question, I think it is much more complicated then that. It still is way better then the CFS FM's

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye
shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you again.

infinatly better!!! but im thinking the shared FM is what the game uses and that to me seams to be the sorce off the probs we been seeing in the planes when they try to fix things it changes others but thats just my opinion
