The spruce goose has a span, larger then a 747 /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif and it is all wood! a Cessna could land on it /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

A pitty that plane never really flew (except for that little jump during taxi trials)

Imagine a spruce goose Strategic bomber that actually worked! What would the bombload be? How many guns could you fit on that mofo?

Take a look to the sky just before you die. Its the last time you will!

Hmmm, they would have a real difficulty with the bomb bay, it would have been watertight. and how would they load the bombs? Carry it all externally could be done but, would mess-up the aerodynamics too much.

Anyhow, flyingboats aren't made for bombing.
