Jeeze, I wish I had FSX myself.

Please feel free to comment upon the mammoth possibilities in KotS for third party expansion etc. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Anyone see any difference in FSX with the latest patch if you don't have a DX10 gpu. I've been thinking about reinstalling FSX but wondering if its worth it.

Just d/l'd this. My goodness it's impressive. Probably the best 3-D model I have ever seen in a flight sim. The glossy sheen has to be seen to be believed.

Simply stunning.

Cheers.

P8.

(Chivas, my card is an XT1950XTX, so no DX10 support. This is running under FSX SP1).

Still have FS:X installed, thanks to the Acceleration
add-on. This looks very nice, will have to give it a test
spin.

Many thanks to GT, and a Happy New Year back atcha!

Thanks Pluto.....very nice pics.
If you get a chance try SP2...I think its mainly for DX10 features but not sure if it makes a difference with XP and non DX10 cards.

Cool! A direct link! This is pretty cool and a nice way of marketing. A while back I thought about proposing this kind of thing to Oleg, add a non combat plane like the bf-108 taifun to FSX to show the quality etc.

Very clever advertising---something rare in computer world. I'm waiting for KOTS---a castrated FM won't cut it (want that vicious rotary torque!). Clearly these guys are the new Uber.

Welp, I have the first bug report...

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I cannot get full aileron deflection. Whenever I watch from externals the ailerons move, then when the stick comes to it's full travel, the ailerons snap back to the neutral position. Hence, the Dr1 rolls like a TB3.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

It is a beautiful model though.

Oh and the guns don't work...

I wonder how many sim pilots will try KoTS and then become disappointed because of the very low performance of WW1 birds? It's hard enough to get some folks out of the 25lb. Spit or K4, for a P40 or an E4. What are they gonna do when faced with 115mph aircraft?

Beautiful!

There are insane things you can do with WWI biplanes which can't even be dreamed of doing in late WWII fighter, and close-in fighting can be a real kick, game-wise. Thirty people rocking and rolling, looping, making strut cracking turns, and blasting opponents so close they can see his eyes will likely prove to be very popular. KOTS ought to do really well.

I think it was refreshingly clever---on top of that, they used somebody else's flight sim to sell their product! Brilliant.

This series was shown in the U.S. on the Discovery Channel in the mid-1980's. It was absolutely excellent. I wish it was available on DVD. Chabot had a career in the RFC/RAF through WWII.

Gozr's tweaks are indispensable for FSX. I've used them with complete satisfaction.

The patch (I can only think of one patch that's been released) really improves frame rates! It makes FSX playable.

I dunno man...M/S doesn't like addons and would probably want to charge for every patch and pack that GT came up with...or worse - might agree to distribute and then come up with a way to smother or squash the product completely..too much 'competition'

not that I'm pessimistic much...hahah

It's a very pretty model, but it flies much more docile than the WoP Spit I; which is not what I've been lead to believe.

Shouldn't it suffer monster torque and gyroscopic effects from the rotary engine?

And I'd didn't think rotaries had a throttle either - they were "controlled" with ignition.

Especcialy gyroscopic effect... but I'm not sure the FSX engine allows that one to be modelled correctly...

Not all. This is right for some rotary engines like Clerget for example, but later rotary engines were fed with some simple carburators... so got a standard throttle.
... in any case... I don't think FSX models the "blip" control... so you have to choose another way...
