If the second gunsight on some planes worked, you could use it after the ordinary got shot up as it gets all the time, but maybe it's much work

nice idea :-)

I would go a step further. What do you think if the old VVS planes (I-16, I-153) have only this fixed crosshairs instead of the new gunsights? I can't imagine, that even obsolete VVS planes had modern gunsights like in IL2/FB in 1941/1942

Don't be so sure. I know for a fact that a reflector sight was standard equipment on the I-16 by 1937.

I find the revi in the I153 very annoying, I would realy prefer the iron one or the revi alone, not the 2 mixed together
