Ok not to be anoying but iam trying to slowly learn 3dmax.
I have mastered creating the snowman but want to make other things.

ok the question is what is the basic procedure for creating the aircraft?

do you start with the cylinder or a block.

do you only model one side and the mirror it?

also are there any good tutorials?

I know its a lot of questions and by the looks of things you are very busy but any help is big help thanks!

Well the body normally uses a cylinter. Some people use boxes for the wings. I typically make an airfoil with the line tool, and then extrude it. It makes a quick wing. I am doing a rather large update to my web page today. Maybe I will make a quick tutorial.

Say Gibbage, while you're around maybe you could answer a few questions for me. I'm a CAD drafter (AutoCAD 2000 & MicroStation 8.1). Both MicroStation and AutoCAD 3D files can "Save As" to .3ds files or to .dxf.

When you create an object for FB is it done as a solid or surface modeling? I notice cylenders aren't used much. Can't you extrude a circle along an axis? When I create an object it doesn't look like many polyline in it. What happens to an AutoCAD object when converted to 3D Studio Max.

I've created a barge and a medium sized boat as well as two bunkers and an artillery fighting position. The boat has 4 LOD's plus two damaged models (one with holes in it and the other blown completely apart. I'm still working on the barge.

Would you want these to perhaps submit them to the Polygon Police?
