I had fun this morning. I decided to have a go on Combat Flight Sim 2. My first mission was to attack a pair of Bettys in my Wildcat. Unfortunately my engine caught fire but i managed to shoot them both down. I then pressed X which is the time acceleration key. To my surprise the engine had fallen off. However the flight model did'nt notice this, despite the massive drag this would have caused and the complete loss of engine power which would have been a serious problem. Fortunately for myself, the game thought that I still had engine power and i managed to glide right up to the carrier (with flaps, tailhook and undercarriage fully extended.) However i was not entirely successful, and bounced on the deck before exploding (whoops/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif ).Although people complain about Il2 FB's FM, that kind of thing has never happened to me in IL2 FB. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

To avoid the frustration of misfortune,
That, in this world, is happiness.

Yeah! FB doesn´t have those features...because it isn´t a carrier based Sim...
And in FB, when your engine gets hit, you beeter know how to glide properly for a max distance, cause the sim will notice the difference between a running engine and a shot one...

Yea, I`m sick of these company buzz words "As real as it Gets!"

"Challenge Everything!"

Yea, right! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Well, in the case of CFS (yes, I know "challenge everything" is EA's slogan, not Microsoft's) you gotta challenge all your perceptions of reality as we know it. Doesn't that count as "everything"? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

You just have to understand the slogan properly. In the case of Microsoft's "As Real As It Gets", the "It" refers to Microsoft's flight sim programming.

Class dismissed,
