No links, of course, but as of today there's officially a new project underway at "the mod place."

Just a heads up to anyone interested. I can't wait. '30s vintage aircraft are great.

I am asking what could you possibly get banned for?

On topic these are great looking things so far.

So they say that those models are build for IL-2?

Well, any 3D Modeler of aircrafts will be able to tell you that those models are build for CFS or MSFS.Only the good 3D modeler eye is able to notice this through...

I think that anyone that has been following Il-2 model development since the days of Netwings is well aware of the intricacies of the engine (and specifically the special selections for the DM and the approximately 577,000 different LoDs required.)

Still, the models are quality and will (eventually) fill a huge gap in the plane set. It'd be great if we could see something like this in an official or semi-official capacity from TD, but I doubt that's going to happen due to the other projects you're working on, so a development like this is only good for the community.

Good, since that's the guy who built them and is wishing to optimise them for IL-2,and mainly is their creator and owner,I'm happy to hear that.

Don't take my upper comment as negative, but it's because on various mod locations some people have taken/stollen CFS/MSFS models, and even didn't bothered to optimise them for IL-2,and have put ~14 000-17 000/30 000 (even more) high polygon models in IL-2.But the biggest thing was that some of those guys, presented them as their own work when they aren't.And I personally am approaching such topics with caution and neglect. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Anyway,in near future DT will coorporate with anyone who's willing to create anything, with the moto "quality over quantity",and of course according the MG and DT specifications, which of course will be provided to him after he applies as third party contributor with us.

PS:I have never seen this project,China Skies, can you PM/Mail me link to it?
I'm interested in this guy's work.

That's really great to hear. There are some high quality mods out there, but they're definitely in the minority. "Quantity over quality" seems to be the general modding philosophy still.

I can't speak for anyone, but I get the impression that some of the more talented groups that have "broken off" from the AAA mod community share TD's vision. It'd be great if some of those projects got the "official" treatment.

I'm interested in this guy's work. I'll PM the only link that I have.

I got it from a screenie on one of the interviews with Team Daidalos, cant remember if it was on simhq or some other russian site.

Anyway your model looks excellent in game and im very much looking forward to fly this plane,
Its my favorite WWII fighter, I have waited for this since I heard you two were starting to model it. and I gave Geronimo all material I got on it. hopefully the cockpit will come soon to, Wonder why it isnt flyable yet, as the cockpit was done a long time ago. maybe someone from Daidalos can tell us?
Also that blue camo, always wondered what source you got that from?
Anyway Thank you Gibbage for an excellent modeled CW-21B Interseptor

The texture was done by both me and Lead Spitter (more him then me) so I dont know were the rather interesting camo patters came from. I dont remember, it was that far back. Im just REALLY glad to see it in-game. It was my last and finest work in IL2.

your stuff has always been unbeatable Gibbage. Looking forward to seeing this to.

Pitty we never were able to see your original version of the P-80, but I'm just glad to get what we got. Thanx for all your efforts.

Not to hyjack this thread, but there are people who are modding the P-80 on the "other" sight to add the tip tanks and air brakes. Even a tail hook!

Also, if you think my IL2 stuff was good, you should see the FSX stuff im working on.
