If your considering the Cougar, then I'll give a strong recommendation for CH Products. You can gather more information here: http://www.chproducts.com

There are a few different Joysticks they offer with the Fighterstick being the top of the line just ahead of the Combatstick. Even if those seem to be too much, you can look at the Flightstick Pro.

Each of these sticks SHOULD be paired with the CH Pro Pedals at least and would also benefit from the addition of the Pro Throttle. All three controllers (Joystick, pedals, throttle) will cost you about the same as a Cougar but, unlike the Cougar, will require no aftermarket modifications to get it right and will provide unequalled precision for years longer than any other set out there.

The X52 is a good value-for-the-dollar and comes complete without needing an additional input device for rudder (since it's a twisty stick). I would still recommend getting the Saitek pedals, if not now then down the road. They give better control and give that additional element of immersion.

If you want precision and "work right out of the box" simplicity, go with CH products. Good stuff. Too "light in the ***" for me, I'm a big man.

If you want to be Astroboy, get the Saitek X52. Same problems as with the CH rigs but even more so.

If you want the best stick you can get, get a Cougar and mod it up with either the UberII NXT mod or the FSSB mod. The Cougar is all metal and the throttle is superior to any other on the market. Combine these with a set of simpeds from Germany and you've got the best money can buy.

those mod are for the play move the stick have i have a old F22 it have some small movement on stick but it seeens tobe that on the cougar is bigger. that is true.

also i see that those mod are not in the us how much will they cost do you know the price?

Astroboy lol..... well i have read some good thing about the x 52. I am thinking alot of the cougar especilly because i have and old f22 with a tqs, for almost 8 years, but it is too old for the actual system and i have to keep a old game port on my pc to use it and a dual boot sys to program it.

The only thing that keep me away are the need to mod it (cougar)

well between ch,cougar and x52 let see!!!

thanks guys

The UberII Mod is puts a whole new internal spring setup in your stick. Less heavy on the throw, more precise in that it uses Hall's Sensors (no more pots) and it gets rid of the Center Detent you're talking about. The FSSB mod uses electronic pressure sensor and is a very easy mod. The UberII needs some skill and forethought. The UberII is Australian, got mine in less than a week. Cubpilots Hall's sensors come from upstate NY, near me. Good gear, plus you can keep your Gameport CH pedals and use them with your Cougar, just plug them into the Kitty and the software recognizes em.

I would recommend the CH throttle and the Saitek Aviator joystick combination.

The Saitek Aviator is cheap and can be quickly and cheaply modded to a very stable precise joystick. Best would be the MSFF2 joystick but its only available on ebay. New or second hand.

The Cougar throttle would be the best choice but very difficult to acquire without buying the joystick as well. The CH throttle can be bought seperately.

The Saitek Avaitor would be also be a good choice for a stand alone stick, but combining it with a seperate throttle gives you enough inputs that you would rarely have to use the keyboard.

I have an X-52 with CH pedals and love it. So I would recommend those. But if your willing to buy a Cougar then buy all CH imo. Of course the X-52 Pro is right around the corner or is currently available depending on where you live.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
