Will the SOW run smoothly on perfect settings on a $1200 PC?

That remains to be seen.

maybe, if you get an 80% discount and the calculated price is $1 200

Foxy you can often relate dollars to Sterling by the time it gets over this side of the pond....buy Aircraft spares and electronics all the time for work and the dollar price equates to Sterling by the time you get it here.

If that 1200 includes monitor, keyboard, mouse, harddrives, sound card, etc, then I think we can safely say no.

But if the 1200 is spent just on performance -- CPU, mobo, RAM, video card(s), then possibly.

You should know that no system req's have been released for it yet....

Hi Tony how you doing? Yeah thats true. The game I like to play, apart from il-2http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gifis, "what kind of rig could I build for 500 if I lived in the U.S. of A." Parts are so cheap over there it sometimes makes me cry. Yeah, maybe it will run well on a $1200 rig.

Sage advice. I can build a system for $1200 (sans monitor, keyboard etc,,) that runs PF quite well. For that reason, I'd say you can hypothetically build a rig for that amount that will 'run' SOW acceptibly, but it still remains to be seen how much of the eye-candy you'll be able to switch on.

Well, if a 386 costs 1.200$ in your country, not. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

It all depends upon just when you choose to spend that $1200.

Spend it now and I doubt it.

Spend it in a few years and you may well be able to run SOWBOB quite nicely...

Yeah, right now the $1200 will only get you the video cards....

Sure it will. just a little tweaking is required.

For example:
Placing a $5000 pc on top of it.

Dew Claw...don't be sooooo cynical http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

I think it'll run just fine if you purchase the PC in October or November...of 2008. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Isn't this a bit premature?

Could probably upgrade a decent PC to SOW midrange for $800-$1200.

Some of the sales I've seen anymore you can get a pretty hot base machine with decent parts
for $600. I've scoffed and then after checking was surprised. Beef the power, add RAM and
a good but not best videocard and maybe $1200 for the rig would do fine. But then you have
to know how to shop, be willing to wait and do your own tech work or have a friend who will.

You can build a near top of the line (never buy the absolute top part as there is a huge premium on its price) gaming rig for $1500 Cdn if your smart and you don't need acessories like monitors and keyboards. If you focus your money on a high performance case, CPU, and video card with a decent amount of RAM that'll do.

How could anyone possibly know?

It could be delayed, we only have a few screenshots to go on. If the PC is purely for BOB SOW then wait.

Since SOW is at least 8 months away and no specs have been given any conjecture at this point in time is just idle water cooler gossip.

With no specs released yet, it is hard to say with any thing approaching certainty, but I would also like to add that it would depend on how smart of a shopper and buyer you are as well.

Just take your current rig specification you are satisfied with and multiply it by TWO...
