It appears that Oleg is going with the Nvidia boys this time around, however, I don't think you'll be missing much with a high end ATi card.

I think Pacific fighters is the same as IL2 ACE. The videos you watch with the cool sea will be on the highest setting of a top end video card. If you don't have the game will look like it does now http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

Actually...that pretty much is correct http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you have a GeForce 6800 then you can enable the Level 3 (by the config.ini) perfect water. It uses displacement mapping to make the seas actual 3D objects.

If not, you go back to level 2, 1, or 0 (my preference is 0) just like AEP. PF pretty much, according to everything we've seen, looks just like FB does right now. Apparently a few minor things have been enhanced like larger textures for ground vehicles and objects but largely its identical.

Recommended cards for this game are the FX5700 and 5900 (or 5950) or the Radeon 9600 through 9800. Both nVidia and ATI cards have their pros and cons...I've got a Radeon 9700Pro and couldn't be happier.

I agree IceFire, but I think what Merlin is implying is, Oleg has made some changes to PF that are best taken advantage of with a high end Nvigia card - as opposed to the last time (AEP) where he worked with ATi to bring out the best in the game. I don't think we'll miss much with our 9700Pro cards (I couldn't be happier either), but if you want to see PF in ALL it's glory, you're going to need an Nvidia card I think.

Thanks guys for replay. I just get Nvidia 6800 ultra. I vent from Radeon 9800 PRO 128.I think FB -AEP is better with ATI. Nvidia driving me http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif so far. I hope just drivers are reason. But wery good news about PF. ATI cards have great support in IL-2 FB a Hope going to be same with Nvidia soon.

in the preview made for this game you can read this :

"Graphically the game looks as good as ever. For those folks with the latest Nvidia based cards you will have water effects that will make everyone drool"

It means..that only owners of 6600 Gt and 6800 ultra will be able to see that marvelous water effect !!???

Hope at least to be able to see water in perfect mode as im seeng now with FB ! i cant spend 500" or bucks..for new water effects ! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

you can get the special water effects with the base 6800 card with only 128 meg of ramm. it too has the 3.0 shaders. and that card is only 275 bucks.
