To dream the impossible dream...

Unfortunatly, for reasons too lamentable to get in to, the Avenger is not, and will not be included as a flyable aircraft. This has been the subject of much rancor and speculation, and as such is a sensitve topic on these forums.

Fortunatly, there are about 229 other flyable aircraft in v4.07, so there are lots of ways to fly.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

You're only at v3.01? You need to upgrade with some patches! PF can be patched up to v4.04/4.04m for free. See the Patching Guide (http://www.airwarfare.com/guides/patching.htm) that includes links.

You'll need to install all of the patches in order.

You didn't say whether you have the FB+AEP+PF install or just Pacific Fighters. If you only have Pacific Fighters then you won't be able to upgrade past v4.04. The next add-on, v4.06m, is a paid download and requires FB+AEP+PF.

The patches for the FB+AEP+PF option are larger and contain more content than the 'standalone PF' patches.

As for flyable torpedo-armed planes, I can only think of two offhand: The Beaufighter and the A-20. There are probably others, especially if you have Soviet and German planes. I don't know which Japanese planes (if any) have torps.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The G4M1 carries torpedoes, though it is not so much a torpedo bomber as a medium bomber that can carry a torpedo. The only dedicated torpedo bomber in game is the Il-2T (which I read somewhere did not see operational service, though I do not know if that is true or not). The A-20G (and I suspect the soon to be released A-20C), Beufighter Mk 21, and He-111H all can carry torpedoes. They are all medium/light bombers with torpedo capability rather than true torpedo bombers. The A-20 and Beaufighter did see service the Pacific Theater, but rarely or never in a torpedo bombing role. And obviously, neither is carrier-based nor saw action in a major fleet engagement, so really your only option for any historically accurate torpedo bombing in the Pacific Theater is the G4M1. So you, we did sort of get short-changed on flyable torpedo bombers (one of the reasons Pacific Fighters got poor reviews when it first came out).
