My God that's amazing! Makes the WW2 Monument in D.C. look pretty, well, boring. This BoB thing really captures the feeling of the Blitz and the spirit of those who stood against it.

I wouldnt pay anything for allied promo material. In fact i wouldnt take it if someone payed me. In allied bobmbing raid on my capital, more people got killed than in the LW attack few years before that. They even managed to hit hospital for newborns. After 55 years my capital was bombed again (and the rest of the homeland), this time luftwaffe struck it together with their old foes from BOB. It was very interesting. I was few hundred meters away from the place struck by bomb. Blast wave almost knocked me off my feet.

Bombing was admittedly a pretty indescriminant way to wage war and I can't see many feeling anything but sadness at your loss.
However it was for a long time the only way to hit back against Germany and whether you feel it is justified is a matter for personal opinion.

Having said all that I find it hard to disagree with any memorial of those defending against aggression , and lest we forget a Europe under Nazi rule isn't something many people would celebrate surely ?

I look at the war and most of the horrors that can be found throughout history...... as just that... history. I cant carry that around with me... it causes me too much angst. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

DarthBane_ ....to paraphrase Tony Blair when he came to the US last year..."Um, sorry about that". The US should never have been involved in that affair, especially under UN command but we had an idiot running things...so, sorry about that. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
