Alright, I've gotten curious, so now I have decided, to go all the way to the edge of the map and see what happens. I'm gonna turn on unlimited diesel and first attempt going to the north pole. Then I plan going all the way around the world. Wish me luck!

Cannibalism your new creed
Half your crew dead and you haven't passed the med
You're trying to throw your boat around the world
How far can she roll
At twelve knots no one knows
You've been trying to push your nine around the world

They haven't seen us in quite a while
We were told to patrol the British isles
Without any contacts since Ceylon
We are way past our friends in Nippon
Rotting meat and mouldy bread
So tired of cleaning out the head
Then Fritz says
We're approaching the end of the world

Good luck! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

it's a nice trip albeit not much action...

i saw slots 'o planes in the harbour at frisco but nothing else until i started the turn around cape town...

nonetheless, the crew enjoyed the exotics... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The first successful attemp to run a submarine under the ice of the North Pole was 1957 or 1958 with the US atomic submarine "Nautilus", as far as I remember.

To do it in a diesel submarine is pretty daring! GOOD LUCK!

World Trip Report:

The North Pole (sort of)

Well my journey north has ended, as at about 70 degrees north, I ran into the ice cap or something. Here are the pics.

Sorry for the darkness, but if you look closely you can see the grey form in the distance that stretches as far as the eye can see.

Another pic of the Formations.

I launced a Magnetic Torpedo at a running depth of 15 meters, fast. It detonated about 5 meters away from the wall (Magnetic Interference?), and the explosion could be seen through the ice or whatever it was. I tried to get a pic of it with this one.

Next stop, Antarctica...

The images don't seem to be working.

Anyway, thanks for doing this so that other people don't have to ^^

Are you going to do the Blue Nose and Shellback Ceremonies when you go to the North Pole and cross the equator? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That was a very interesting report! What are you going to do now? Dive under the ice, or to go round the world south of Africa, Australia and South America? I am very interested to get reports!

Good luck!
