Yesterday, after four patrols hunting Arctic convoys I requested a transfer to the 10th flotilla based in Lorient and i bought a type IXD2 boat.
When i started the mission, my boat was in the sub bunker with the stern trapped intpo the concrete of the wall. When I tried to move, my sub was bitten to pieces. This happen in ALL flotillas that uses the IXD2. 2nd 10th and 12th.
This is relally frustrating... anyone else ever suffered this problem?????

It's a known problem with no solution as far as I know. I've found one thread about this here (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/857101043/m/2491031933?r=2491031933#2491031933)

when playing sh4 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif, if i remember well,there was an option that allowed me to start outside the port...if converted to sh3 it will solve all our problems. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Check out the technical help and try using find to seek solutions to the bugs.

This is the change to fix Bordeaux so you can use the type IX/D2 there without copying a different base file. The problem with the typeIX/D2 being stuck into the rear wall at Bordeaux,can be rectified by changing the longitude and latitude of the naval base.

Open up file;
SilentHunterIII/data/Campaigns/Campaign/Campaign_LND.MIS
This can be opened up using notepad'look for

[Unit 36]
Name=Bordeaux
Class=NavalBase
Type=407

Long=_103695.000000
Lat= 5447206.000000
Heading= 0.000000

and change the Long and Lat to the above numbers, save, and your all set.

I just moved to Lorient to join a IXB (in WAC) and didn't have trouble getting out of port. However, on my first attack (on a Coastal Merchant at about 650m) I suffered severe damage, eventually surfaced but when I dived again I didn't come up! Started again, similar damage but I managed to survive and carry on. Very odd.

Met a fast "Old Liner" of 24,000tons later, though even then it was showing all its lights so I assumed it was neutral. Decided to take a look with my External View and discovered it was British, and just got one torpedo off in time to sink it at over 4000 meters.

I'll bear in mind the IXD2 problem and probably avoid trading up to it.
