hi,

need help w/ settings for cam2pan (cheap version of track ir.) http://www.mousevision.com/download.htm

if anyone has good working settings, be most appreciative if you'd post what you've gotten to work. i am not understanding their instructions, and can't optimize it for flying yet.

also, if you have any input on how to configure the earlier version for MS2004, that'd be great to learn too. the earlier version is a demo for 30 days, whereas the the later version (2.0.9) runs for only 5 mintues. if i can adapt the earlier one, i can fiddle with that until I can scrape enough cash to get track IR. I don't mind buying the full version-- but just want ot make sure it works well before i plunk out the cash. ($20 US dollars)

i tried posting in the community help forum, but didn't get any responses....

thanks for your help and time,
ptero77

Im using C2P together with Newview and it runs smooth as silk. As I had a cam I´ve not bothered with TrackIr. The price for C2P, 9,95 US$, is quite unbeatable. The latest version hold track of center very well(in flashlight mode). I can leave the pc for a while, come back and find it centered as before. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

It works best in flashlite mode. I´ve made a little lamp mounted on a stick and attached to headset. C2P holds track of that little light.
As I mostly play after dark, I´ve not bothered much with the other settings. I tested it tho but as my hair is grayish C2P tends to get hold
of the old silverback.

I´ve used it for some years now and dont, at the moment see any need of 180$ TrackIr. But this may change as I´m waiting for my new puter to arrive - a couple of weeks away http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

hey - thxs for your input. can you share w/ me the settings you use? what sensitivity x-y, what smoothness and other settings?

i'm having trouble finding a range that works well.

also, can you explain what the head gestures mean as well as whether you use dead zone or auto centering?

just trying to figure out what settings are best to try.

Thanks again for your input. Appreicate your comments....

Resolution: 160*120 1420 28800

SpeedX 38%, SpeedY 38%, Invert X.

Smoothness 73%, Sensitivity 25%

Framerate forced to 30 fps

Speed and sensitivity together seem to determine the length of headmovement. Increase the figures and less movement of head gets you looking around qwicker. Trick is to get movement enough(to watch over shoulder) with ability to actually see whats going on during the panning. Try out the settings that work best for you.
A good chair is recommended as all your body movements are transferred to the panning http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif. It´s really important to sit still...or get seasick http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif.

Flashlite mode

In Newview config enable in the Get data from menu: External interface(Cam2Pan etc.) and enable it on startup.

Hope it will help you.
