Why isn't it possible to get AEP anymore? So if anyone can help me with the address of somewhere where I can still get AEP please let me know .
I cant get anysense off the Ubisoft site it doesnt know about it.. The rest of the post is just ranting.

If, as is claimed, AEP 'contains' the down loads and patches required to fix IL2 and FB and make them compatible with PF then why has it been 'withdrawn'? has it?? So far I've outlaid for IL2 FB PF and ACes Campaigns (some one conned me). and have waited 2 months on amazon but they cant get it anymore except for silly money (49 and someone is trying to sell one for 129?..) I know this isn't a game.. but a cult sim and a life (YUK YUK). But does that justify ripping the punters off. After all UBIsoft.. isnt it all meant to work out of the box anyway and if the patches are so big they merit a disc then it should be made available? So What about releasing it all as a packaged download?

And by the way why does this 'tool' go ballistic when I type a apostrophe in a word like isn't? how do I turn it off?

As said elsewhere I can provide you with a German version unopened In the UK for 7.00 but I only have 2 copies left as 3 have been sold already to 3 very happy people from the forums http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif The only difference is the booklet and packaging are in German, the disc is the same................. PM me if you are interested, that is a saving of 122.00 LOL on the one you mentioned http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

These are originals and are still sealed in their Cellophane........... I am in the UK

BTW The original IL2 is not upwards compatible with the other versions, you can only merge FB AEP AND PF http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I did a thorough search for AEP in the UK yesterday, all major retail sites came up 'out of stock. The only site with a copy was charging an extortionate price (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001D1RUI/qid=1137945576/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/202-3808512-1618227).

You will be able to get FB+AEP+PF on DVD in about 4 weeks from Play.com 14.99 delivered (http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=rcs&page=title&r=PC&title=866127) a third the price of AEP at release http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Whenever I visit any of my local gaming stores, I generally check out what's in stock for all combat flight sims (even if they are ones I've already got). There are still (or until very, very recently were) a few copies of AEP floating around 'down under'.

I live within easy distance of 4 games shops. A week or so back, one of them had two copies in stock, two stores had one copy each and the fourth had none. The asking price, if I remember correctly, was either $39.95 or $49.95 (Aust). But I also recall seeing the odd copy in the '50% off' sales chuckout bin, a short time before then. Not an issue for me, of course, as I already have AEP.

When these copies (and the others remaining around Australia) are gone, reckon we won't see it here any more. That'll be sad, unless we can soon get some sort of 'gold pack'?

Best regards,
panther3485

Thanks, EURO_Snoopy,

Reassuring to hear that. A couple of my mates are just beginning to get interested in WW2 combat flight simming. (Yeah, I'm chuffed that I've been able to influence somebody - they've seen how much of a buzz I get from FB/AEP/PF. Reckon they are just about on the brink of putting their toes in the water. One more nudge from me and ....ker-splash!!!!!)

Best regards,

Good to know about the DVD (which i shall get). In all the stores i`ve checked I can still see the original IL2, FB and PF, but AEP is like gold dust now. Quite a serious matter, considering that the full 4.02m online/offline version is unplayable without it!

Listen to me.

You can get AEP in Morrisons supermarkets (my local one has over 5 copies in stock on the shelf)

Or you can get it from Borders book shops. My local borders has 3 on the shelf as we type. How can you find it so hard to find it? Have you left your house to look?

Sorry, but I believed this is the official site, where we are supposed to ask our questions, as opposed to those other sites which are not.

Should this question have been posed on Olegs RR?

It seemed a legitimate question. I did not post to troll but to see if anyone knew the answer.

Any comments about the DVD using Starforce that you may see on other sites are speculation (guesses) and should be treated as suspect.

Further, there has arisen a culture of Starforce bashing on some forums. We will not have it here. Until one of the games developed by 1C:Maddox is officially confirmed to use Starforce, this is not the place to discuss that method of copy protection.

bad attitude

this forum isnt some kind of personal fiefdom for people to manipulate, its an open discussion area for CUSTOMERS of il2 to help each other, and exchange information about il2. that includes their concerns about buggy programs that have damaged many pc's and might now be used by oleg in his next commercial program.

and this discussion should be taking place in a thread that indicates it is starforce being discussed, not burrying it inside some other thread that other concerned users might not read.

wrong !

- the russian version of IL-2 Sturmovik already used starforce version 1
- a number of current ubisoft games are already using starforce, like silent hunter etc..
- starforce is russian, so is oleg and the il2 company
- many reports are coming in of experienced pc users having MAJOR problems with demo's and games that use starforce
- etc ...

just a number of exemples as to why current il2 customers and enthousiasts have good reasons to be concerned.

we want our ligitimate concerns about the extensive problems that exist with starforce to be recognised by oleg, instead of moderators here trying to give a superficial brushoff and even block discussion by locking threads. the way they are acting now it just looks very likely that they are considering using it.
