Hi,
As the subject says! i've given you a few pointers at RSC, as i said in that reply the forum is very quiet and can be so slow that people just give up trying to post stuff at certain times of the day, i've known it to take days to get a response. Cheers.

Hi Scott

After 46 views and not a peep in the way of a reply, I got really pissed off at the stuck-up attitude I felt I was seeing. I was fighting-angry last night, to boot. I'll try again later

I'm having a blast tearing around in my Alfa in GTL by the way. But I discovered to my horror that GPL won't work anymore! I'm missing files somehow. It worked last fall, no trouble. I'll have to reinstall GPL and the all-in-one patch, and all my cars, tracks, and car sounds, plus I'll lose my setups as well! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif I really wanted to burn up Spa in an Eagle yesterday

Hi,
Thats **** getting GPL screwed up, i've got a copy sitting on the shelf, Tried to get it all going about a year ago with all the patches and add-ons but had a sound problem with it, Must of installed something wrong or in the wrong order, just got frustrated and gave up, Shame as i love that era of motorsport. BTW if you like the GTL Alfa you must d/load DucFreaks soundpack for it as discussed in my reply on the RSC Forum, Cheers.

hey gents, are you guys still going about this GTL business? do you race online? I own GTR and was wondering if I should get GTL... the idea of racing in all those cintage cars fascinates me quite a bit... but I mostly enjoy racing online against human opponents.

I haven't raced online in years

GTL is great fun, but I don't know how active their online community is. Imagine taking a GT40 MKIV into a right hand sweeper with a Shelby Daytona on your back bumper and a pesky Pantera inches from your passenger (but left hand side) door

It's fun. Damn near as fun as GPL for me. GTL is club racing in those cars as they would be today, with telemtry and whatnot, I prefer the GPL style sim, where 1967's tech is what you get, like it or not, and you're racing against historical drivers on tracks that were very dangerous and killed drivers not very infrequently. It's a bigger challenge in my opinion, to master Spa-Francorchamps from 1967 in car with zero aero, than it is to master the present day Spa in a car with downforce, but doesn't go as fast as the '67 car http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I need to fix my GPL install badly...

But GTL delivers, don't get me wrong http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Every installation of GPL I've ever had, and I've had quite a few, has failed at some point. And I don't mean after installing a track, or updated graphics. I'm talking working fine one day, then after a some period of time off from the sim, it just won't start, or it fails to load any track I select.

This got frustrating to me after a while so somewhere around 3 years ago I gave up. But having recently made a GTL movie I got to thinking about GPL again and possibly making a GPL movie. I bit the bullet for another re-installation. What a pain, tracking down all the car and track updates and everything else that may not actually be required, but is desirable to make the game look more current. It took me two long evenings of clicking links and sifting through the B. S. to find the good stuff and get all my old favorite tracks and car skins loaded. It's up and running now, though, and it was worth the effort.

I was able to find pretty much everything I needed from this page-

http://www.zefix.tv/gpl_ultimate_links/

I also picked up the '65 series, '69 series, and Thundercar mods there. Very cool stuff.

I don't race online but i believe theres a fair bit going on, i've read it pays to join a league, pretty much the same with GTR i imagine because of the wreckers. I play GTL pretty much all the time at the moment, it's a brilliant sim with a really good selection of cars and tracks, ad theres loads of tracks and skins you can download, Look at my reply to Chris' post at race sim central GTL forum for a few pointers, Well worth the 9.99 it costs here in the UK. Cheers for the GPL link Wilburnator, might give it another go at the weekend.
