"Weathering and exhaust staining dynamically effecting aircraft appearance."

I like that. I think between the new ground texture details, the new FMs and pits, the enhanced mission & AI features, the dynamic weather and this alone BoB is going to be a killer. I can only dream of some of the otnher things that 1C will toss in there before it is all said and done.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Minimum system would be probably like last year good system for IL-2 series. The simulation has gone from what was to be a study sim involving one aircraft to a real monster anthology of WWII aviation. The engine has been stretched to fit multi-engined bombers, aircraft that are linked (such as the Mistel and the TB-3/I-16 combinations), aircraft carriers, runway cratering, working searchlights, etc.

Agreed. I can only imagine the other goodies that they aren't even talking about yet or won't talk about until just before the release. Now what kind of system will be available by then to run it??? I think about that too (with ensuing goosebumps). It will be a GREAT time for all of us Oleg followers.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

All good stuff...(and i shall be first in the queue when BOB-SOW comes out) but it seems (and its just a guess at this stage) that Oleg is going for more and more graphical goodness...rather than putting as much effort into the Campaign...Complex Engine Management etc etc...I'd rather have historically sized formations...than dynamic weathering on a plane that you can only see in screenshots/external views anyway...

Well, I hate to be a party pooper, but I read Oleg`s words carefully and closely. In other recent threads and interviews he mentioned that they`ll max out on everything then cut back to what`s capable for acceptable framerates on most PCs. Later, thru Patches, the extra stuff will be (hopefully) added.

The point I`m making is, don`t get too excited. We`re a year away and I`ve seen too many games promise much, but then deliver half once everyone`s forgotten what was said a year ago.

I am cautiously optimistic.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

As I recall though, religious affiliation is not recorded by the US Census Bureau, or at the very least they can't require you to provide it. It's a freedom of religion thing.

cheers

- Good morning, brother! We come to you in this glorious day to bring you the stainless 1C sims, the Air Sims of Truth, which by the providence of their impolute flight models and "increadible" detail, will implant in your soul the seeds of unmatched quality -dare we say, "unmachable?- so you can pronounce the ineffable name of the SoW creator and sing with us of his praises. Be aware so the Day of Release won't catch you unready! For the Promised 6DOF is nigh!

- And when that will be?

- Our prophet says "two weeks".

- Well... er... you see... I play CFS3.

- Heresy!

I'm a member of the congregation, and thankfull for the 7 years and probably another 7+ years of Oleg combat simming.

I used to enjoy the "Church of Bill Gates" but they lost there way with CFS3.

Most of us are open to review other faiths but I see no other viable path at the moment. Maybe you can inlighten us.

the simplest answer is the latest, however the best gains in fps usually come from a bit of tweaking

first link is quite in depth in how to install/setup catalyst, the second how to setup ingame.

good luck

"Weathering and exhaust staining dynamically effecting aircraft appearance."
Is this related to skins? If so,will this Dynamic Skin feature be restricted to default skins alone, Or is it grafix rendered on top of any or every possible skin?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I should think the weathering effects would go over custom skins as well as default. It would be easier all round -at least with a good graphics card.

For instance, Medieval total war2 has blood and mud spats that appear on EVERY soldier as fighting happens which indicates to me that the effect is like a different `brush` applied to the basic model and over the skin no matter what it is.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
