This has to be a joke, if not I cringe at the thought of this guy dancing and singing in this costume. The majority of Indian films have some really camp dancing and singing in them and I think I'd cry if they did that to Altair lol

Ubisoft, take it upon yourselves to make sure this movie DOES NOT contain any cheerey Altair Doppelgänger please!!

Ok a few things from your above comments to "People Here" first we were not saying anything about Indian movies and whether they are great or not thats your own opinnion In my opinnion they suck but thats only my opinnion not fact so were not really talking about something we dont know about, people all form opinnions based on experience. Your man may well be a great actor but again we are not questioning his acting ability we are questioning the fact he looks a bellend in that get up and if anything a bit gay. The way you say he wont fail this time too suggests he has failed before yet you also sing his praises??? So im not sure what you mean there mate. As for your final piece, well i have answered that above we are not questioning his acting ability or entertainment ability just cant see his name across billboards in cities like New York and my beloved Londond as its too long http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif .

I've honestly tried to sit through a number of Indian movies but I just can't manage it. I wouldn't say they suck per say but they're far to soft for me to watch. Emotions and physical actions are always over exaggerated and I find it quite patronising. That's just my northern europeon view on it though.

No doubt the movie would be good for those who appreciate Indian cinema but for me it would be cringeworthy. An Assassin would not sing and dance like they do in Indian movies...

For mainstream worldwide cinema I couldn't think of a worse genre of cinematography for an Assassin movie...

One question though. Is he actually playing an Assassin?

They only suck In my oppinnion doesn't mean its right its just an opinnion. I actually 100% agree with you mate its all too much all that over display of emotion the way you have descibed that is perfect.

Also good point is he playing an assassin or not??

Indian movies are great in many aspects...

I posted here to show we Indians too have great actors who transform into the characters they act and give us good entertainers... Not talking about the whole of Indian cinema, haven't seen enough Indian films to form an opinion one way or another about the whole genre.

But -this- particular films outfit design and promo material is completely unoriginal. Would say the same if it was a US film. or chinese. or Eurpoean. or wherever.

Since its a remake of the 2000 action comedy film (Azad) about a guy donning a persona based on a unseen town vigilante, with the remake's outfit design to settle on a direct knockoff of Altair, they'd need to actually have the guy be a total Assassin's creed fanboy to directly justify him blatantly knocking off Altair's design when coming up with something to wear.

To try and pass that design off as original would be completely absurd regardless of what country it came from, the actors level of success or any other factor.

WTF - This movie in no way will conceptually refer assassins creed.

1)No historical references.
2)No hired assassinations(Possibly of thugs who can be taken out by thai-kwan-do.)

It is concept of stealth take-down that might have impressed the creators or copy-cats of this movie.Least, they could have disguised it better.

I really don't think the actor is suitable for the role jus because he can sport a costume. He does not have elegance to perform rooftop chases or escapes. Possibly with support of cables.Even so, he might not impress kids that have played the game.

Do u believe this guy is for real? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_jFwvB6Y3c)

I think ubisoft is goin to Laugh their AO at this. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I have absolutely no clue what that trailer even was, infact... I'd say I'm more unsure about it now than I was before I watched it lol

There was a snippet of Lineage in there so Ubisoft must know about it. Surely the producers wouldn't be stupid enough to use copyrighted material in a trailer?

After seeing the trailer a while ago I couldn't tell if it was all the same thing or a mash up O_o It was very weird... And as for the scenes from Lineage if they didn't get permission from Ubisoft they're as good as sued =\

This is seriously sue worthy.
Although Ubi do not/have not trademarked the beaked cape or whatnot but still, this movie is using few parts from Lineage movie for their own trailer which I think it can fall under copyright infringement unless they are being granted permission from Ubi themself.

Here's the movie trailer reccorded from another angle.

The whole thing looks to be a joke ...I checked out with my friend...its seems this movie has nothing to do with assassins creed except the fact that he is sporting that costume...Its just a teaser...As some one said, if its featured in the movie,i think it will be featured for a song only http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif Moreover, indian audience don't like such realistic historical stories(Personally i have had experiences where an indian friend of mine din like dark knight even a bit http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif but a sentimental movie ) And coming to that trailer...It was a fan made one (most possibly by a crazy fan of that actor and assassins creed.lol)...SO don't freak out guys ... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Woo!! I'm Punjabi too!! But I live in Australia. I also agree with everything that you just said. This movie is a low budget Tamil movie (I'm not saying that Tamil movies aren't good or anything). Tamil people are a minority in India as are we Punjabi's. Hindu people are the majority in India and most minority groups also speak Hindi (the most spoken language in India). Hindi movies are big budget and are truly Bollywood like sm312 said.

Also I get what everyone is talking about when they say that Indian movies are campy and melodramtic and I also think that the dance sequences can get annoying. I personally don't like them that much either but they're not THAT bad.

So embarrassing >_<

Just for clarification, that movie isn't from Bollywood at all. It's from a southern-most Indian state and doesn't represent Bollywood in any way whatsoever.

I also agree that a sizeable percentage of Indian movies are nonsense, but there are the many gems that aren't. You just have to know someone who can pick them out for you.
It's the same for any other country. I bet you wouldn't like it if I judged American cinema based on Battlefield Earth and Disaster Movie. You just need to catch the right movies http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Also, this movie isn't low-budget at all. That guy is pretty big in Tamil Nadu and the actress is one of the top-tier Bollywood actresses.

To the Indian people here: Explaining what that trailer was all about might go a long way in helping us understand this movie.

SBRedFlag
07-30-2010, 08:53 AM
Ok El_Sjietah, let's get something straight here. India is comprised of many, many, many different regions, each with their own languages, cultures, and races. You can't look at something like the movie we're talking about here (which is obviously a piece of garbage, honestly) and say that it reflects upon Indians or Indian movies as a whole. So asking Indians to clarify is, frankly, kind of insulting (I'm an Indian-American btw). Also, like most of us here, I have no idea what that trailer was about. Like I said, this movie is going to be absolute garbage.

Also, everyone who is generalizing Indian movies as a whole by saying "I think Indian movies suck" or talking about the singing and dancing, you have to realize that you're talking about the movies from a country that produces the most films in the world, with the US coming in a distant second. So you saying what you're saying is like a Russian (just as an example) saying "I hate American movies". Like any industry, there are good Indian movies and not-so-good Indian movies, and I've watched some of both. It just happens that the one that's been brought to your attention is a horrible one.

By the way, I'm not holding anything against anyone, I hope it doesn't seem like I am. Just think carefully before making generalized statements with little foundation.

wow... i dunno whether to laugh or cry... thts not even a trailer. it jst bunch of zoom in zoom out shots on the actors in photo shoot. so im not surprised many of u r confused.

any1 who supports THIS particular movie... im sorry to say, u need to get ur head checked. i personally tend to like hollywood movies over indian movies (bollywood, tollywood, kollywood, whatever "woods" india has come up with so far). on rare occassion there r movies that r absolutely great from india. but no1 can justify this movie...

im not saying india is the only country who exploit original material. HELL only recently USA remade "Death at a Funeral" which was a originally a brilliant film from UK. I just think it is an injustice to the fan base n the original creators, to exploit the material in ANY WAY, in wat looks like a movie that will surely not do well. NO MATTER THE COUNTRY OR FILM INDUSTRY, if it doesnt do justice to the original, it should not be remade! i cant think of any way some1 cud argue against that last sentence...

C'mon fellow indians who are hopeful bout this movie, if u do like Assassin's Creed as much as I do, wouldn't u want some1 to PROPERLY depict Altair or Ezio in an actual Assassin's Creed movie? not jst take some bits n pieces from original, n stuff it in a random movie just so it can make a lil extra in the box office.

this message comes from a movie and game enthusiast. dont think of me as jst another indian replying to this forum. even if i was different nationality i would have the same opinion.

and IF ubisoft actually did give them permission... im lost for words lol. then i dunno wat they were thinking...

p.s. i hope no1 gets offended by wat i said...
