OK Guys.. Here's another question (Possibly a Dumb one) but hang in there.... I'm getting better. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif How do I get my AI Wingman or any AI pilot in my flight to attack a particular ship? I was hoping to be able to padlock a carrier, then go through the commands menu, and tell my wingman to "Attack my target", but so far, I can't seem to get either Ground padlock or air padlock to mark any ships. Am I missing something in the manual? Thanks in advance

The closest thing to doing that would be to get your wingman closer to the ship you want to attack and then tell him to attack ships. still, I've found they go for the biggest target... battleship vs. destroyer almost every time.

Maybe someone else has a better answer.

Try telling them to rejoin, then line up on the ship you want them to attack. Just before you drop your bombs, tell them to attack ships. I've been using this technique to attack truck convoys in QMB and it works well, but i have not tried it with ships. I use shoot 1.6.4 to issue all my wingman commands, which makes it a lot easier to give split second instructions to my flight.

Thanks for the input guys, but I still can't get them to target ships even trrough the menu interface.... I'm sure it's something simple, but I haven't found it yet. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

The trick is to get your wingmen close to the ship. Otherwise it's "Unable.".

It can be done. I learned how from Zeus-cat's excellent Torpedo Bomber Campaign, "Straight and True" available here:
http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_campaigns.htm

I highly recommend flying this as it really helps you learn how to control the AI flying with you.

You probably know this but.....If you make a mission in the FMB you can make your flight/wingman bomb a ship simply by puting the GO ATTACK waypoint over the ship.

Be careful using the "Rejoin" command as torpedo bombers will dump their torpedos when issued that command. Not sure what dive bombers do.

Zeus-cat also says to start shooting a ship (target), then issue "attack my target".
