Should I call you liar for this quote, or simply a "bullshиter"?

The Yamato model, shown on the screenshots doesn't have ANY relations to the FB/PF series.
The Yamato for the PF was in development, but couldn't be finished before the PF release. Later, it's modeller lost interest in this project.

Something similar to this happened to the TBD and Gekko. The models weren't complete before the release and later interest to them died from both sides (first from developer side, later - from modellers side).
They were never complete to the engine requirements.

Thats a very nice tone you choose there!!
I was just stating what I had heard from various people. I do not see anything ofensive there to strike such a tone. But maybe in your circles that is normal?

Ummm your post didn't have a good tone either, even if others told you bad info about the Yamato, you must have known the screenshots were not from PF (water is a giveaway). http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

You was just spreading bullshиt and that's all. No metter how you call it now.
And your bullshиt IS offencieve to the developers.

So, if you feel, my previous post was offencieve towards you - then, good. It was intended to be so.

I think that quite a lot of people see a screenshot of a model that is a work in progress and just assume that it will later be seen in the game, without regard for the fact that anyone can submit a screenshot of a model they have worked on, and that this in no way means that it has any chance of being accepted within the sim.
I too was fooled for the first few months I visited the forums, I assumed that any WIP I saw would later appear in the game. These WIPs mean NOTHING!!!
Wait for official updates and the official screeenshots, all else is false, lies, or hopeful anticipation.

I'm with SaQSoN on this.

Martin, even I took your tone to be derogatory and considering the amount of literature spread amongst these pages with regards to the various reasons that certain models failed to make it into the sim - I'm not surprised Saq had got issues with you. I suggest you learn to read, and adopt a more humble attitude.

Jasonbirder, Saqs only human... and besides, this 'customer is always right' thing is BS; at the end of the day you wouldnt BE a customer if someone wasnt selling what you wanted; I hate it that some people take it on themselves to believe just cos they're buying gives 'em an excuse to be a complete, grade A, a55wipe.

I'd love a TBD; but am I gonna make sarcastic comments regarding its absence? No, I know the score and am busy enjoying myself with the 200+ other flyables, several hundred ground objects and 50 odd maps. Catch my drift?

This looking a gift horse cr#p gets old real quick.

I'm not sure if SaQSoN represents actual interest. He's a man on the inside but I forget what his role is. He's more like just a normal form person here on the forums that knows a bit more of whats going on than the average person. Actually I know more thats going on than the average forum guy but SaQSoN knows a heck of allot more...I just read and remember...he does actual things http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I appreciate his frank and to the point information with no BS and we get a good look at what is going on.

Lots of people have leveled some pretty serious accusations at Oleg, Luthier, and team without really knowing what happened or forgetting what was said when it was properly told.

Sure, if one got to smile politely to every jerk out there, it is no surprise, that in the end of a day he/she takes a US-made pirated copy of AK-47 and shoot the **** out of some of his/her work buddies and potential customers. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Want to know the shocking truth? I DON'T CARE. Particulary in regard to "this forum". I am just doing a work of art (or, at least, so I tend to think about it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) and having fun doing it.
If I'll be denied from doing that due to whatever reason, I'll find another way to have fun. And that's just it.

So, Jason, try living the easy way - it's a great fun, I tell you. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But, it's ok. What I don't understand, is why you are using German for that? Don't you have enough guts to say this in the way, everyone would understand, eh?

Saqson is why there was a Pacific Fighters at all.

There also was a development screen for the Yamato of a hardly started mesh. I know this because I made it.

This is the exact reason why developers do not want to show things that are not finished, which I understand now.

Forumites either complain about errors in the WIP shots, or they complain when the material in the WIP shots doesn't make it to the final game. In any case, no good ever comes of it.

Of course, some people will still find ways to belittle and annoy the people working on the games, because it doesn't suit their every whim and have every plane they want. If you are one, give your head a shake, because we all want the same thing. Fun, comprehensive and realistic sims.

I was, actually, talking about other model.

http://www.rrgstudios.com/img/pacific/YAMATO.JPG

Some 6 or 7 years ago I made a Yamato model for CFS2. It was complete with texture and LODs and everything.
Then I started converting it into IL-2 (it was about a year before the PF development started). But, that project meant a lots of work and I put aside to switch to another, more interesting for me, projects.
Then I passed the unfinished model to Luthier, when he started the PF and he gave it one Ukrainian outsource firm. They failed the task, but when it become clear, there was no time to work on it for myself. So, we put it aside again, hoping to finish it for a PF add-on, which was planned before one well known here corporation become interested in Oleg's sim series. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
This changed all plans and Yamato was abandoned with a handfull of other ships and planes, initially planned for the another PF pay addon...

Some of the said above models, which were complete and didn't had the known leagal issue, were included into the "IL-10" addon.

That's the true story of the Ymato. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

SAQSON,
I really understand what you say, and we really love this Sim, if you make a Snoopy flying house, us by it.
I have all series of this game.

I need BOB to, and can be waiting for more five years for that, hope see all planes de IL2 in BOB, I like all planes we have in IL2 and PF series, remolding all planes, and others.

I know IL2 series coming for end, but some tings can be make:

New maps:
- SLOVAKIA
- ITALY (REMOLD)
- DESERT NORTH AFRIKA

New planes:
- Flayables:
- AVIA B-534 (I love biplanes);
- Fokker DXXI
- CW-21
- GLOSTER METEOR (Pleeaasseee!!!!!!!!)
- F8F BEARCAT (Pleeeaasseee!!!!!!!!!)

Make flayables:
- ALL B-25 FLYABLES
We have this cockpits finish for this planes, make a little changes for specific models of planes
- ALL BF- 110 FLYABLES
- ALL GLADIATORS FLYABLES (Change the language of instruments for gladiators);
- ALL MC 200 FLAYABLES
- ALL MC 202 FLYABLES
- G4M2E FLYABLE

And make AI flayables:
- TBFs, TBM and AVENGER flyable;
- MS406, MS410 and MS-Morko Morane Flyable;
- HAWK 75A-3 and A-4 (P-36) Flayable;
- ME-210s Flyable;
- HS-129s Flyables;
- We need bombers 4 engines flyable, make the P-8 and B-17, or B-29, the TB-3 is very obsolete (B-29 flyable can be used for Korea War);
- TU-2 Flyable (can be used in Korea War to);
- C-47, Li-2 and L2D Flyable (some people like the civil aircrafts and these planes can be used for it)

SHIPS:
-YAMATO
- UBOAT TYPE XXII
-BISMARK
- and Italian ships to.

I need BOB to, and can be waiting for more five years for that.
I hope see all planes de IL2 in BOB, I like all planes we have in IL2 1946, remodeling all planes, and others.

If you make this... I wait for more 7 years for BOB.

One thing to add, is after all that, Luthier suggested I make the Yamato. I think I got your model, too. It's nice.

I want to be remembered as the final person to fail to make it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

(B-29 flyable can be used for Korea War);

Then maybe the B-29 should be in a Korea sim, instead of IL-2. In all likelihood the RRG secret project is a Korea game. The Bismarck would be perfect for BoB (well, a little after the BoB, but close).

And, in the meanwhile, Oleg moves on to a new career or computer gaming genre, since he can't keep on supporting an old game engine for the rest of time. Why are some people here so insistent on keeping the IL-2 engine on life support for all of eternity? Why don't you want development to move on to bigger and better things with the SoW engine? The IL-2 engine has been great for its time, but like all things it has to be set aside at some point in order to make way for something bigger and better.

As for your list:

-Maps: Slovakia is coming, Italy will not be re-made, and you have two desert maps already

-Planes: cut it out already with the "pleeaassee!!!11211111"

next...

-New flyables: nope, nope, nope, nope, and nope, not going to happen. The "little changes" you speak of in fact take a lot of time to implement and test.

-Flyable AI aircraft: see above. Not going to happen.

-Ships: Type XXII uboat? huh? The others, nope, and besides, we have the Bismarck's sister, the Tirpitz.

Next!

Ok, let's make a deal: you give us $1,000,000 and we make, what you ask. That ammount includes dev.cost (for IL-2 engine), NG license fees and at very small scale covers our predicted profit loss due to the delay of the "Unnamed title". Note, the price is given with 50% rebate already, especially for the Ubi-zoo patron!

1000 $ per Customer *1000 Customers =1000000 $
100 $ per Customer *10000 Customers =1000000 $
50 $ per Customer * 20000 Customers =1000000 $
10 $ per Customer * 100000 Customers =1000000 $

On HL there are about 1000 ppl on highest with steady drop. When we assume that offline players are greater in size the potential buyers must be 10000 to 20000 for such a product to be close break even point . (That is without distribution costs etc)

If the il2 situation wouldn't be in a niche market that could be a nice deal.

Well this is one reason I dislike these forums no information of any context from the developers and the BS remarks from a minnow who thinks he is a shark.

Everyone is allowed to have an opinion and if a so called person in the know doesn't like it, that isn't just cause to act like a five year old.

As for the add-ons, I know its wishful thinking, but there are a several maps, and a boatload of IJN planes and ships (not to mention of handfull of US stuff such as the SB2C, TBD, USS Wasp) that a certain unnamed company has nothing to do with, which could have been used for a pretty decent add-on.

And I still have trouble believing that a cockpit for an Avenger could not be added as a "fix" in a free patch to that add-on . . .

One thing people need too remember is that just because you see a "screenshot" it does in no way guarantee that A. Its finished or B. Its promised to be in the game. A screenshot is easy to make. It takes 1 button to do. Putting it into the game takes weeks and months of work. Remember that.

seriously, 4.09 will bring a new map and that is all that can be taken for granted. no new flyables, no new cockpits, nada. this game has ceased development mcmmielli. ceased adding new flyables, ceased modelling new cockpits, ceased, finished, done.

In my job if you're associated with the company...you don't insult, belittle or badmouth potential customers (thats you and me in this instance) PERIOD...whether they're right or wrong we just smile politely...ans as i'm assuming SaQSoN wants as many people on this forum as possible to buy the forthcoming RRG Studios "Secret Project" surely a little courtesy and good manners wouldn't go amiss?

He does that because he doesn't have to do it in person. He'd get knocked out face to face. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

No reason to be a complete 4$$ especially if you're representing something other than yourself. Grounds for dismisal IMO. NO respect for that kind of immature attitude.

While I do not know what happened in your specific "Yamato" situation I don't think you should try to wear this as some badge of honor!
The many pictures of undone models were circulated throughout the community getting hopes up, only for the modelers to lose interest,blame lack of sources or legal issues with Grumman etc. and then disappear.
From He-177's to Kates or Jills to Devastators or Arizona Class BB's it is still an open wound to many in this community http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
And SaQSon posting and trying to scare away any criticism is nothing new. Luthier dropped the ball with PF and we all know it-this could probably go back all the way up to Oleg. I just hope SOW is being run as a tighter ship but with games like TOW and WOV being recently released by 1C I am kinda suspicious.

SaQSon, I have discovered (and I'm sure you already know) that arguing with these people here is a waste of energy, there's no way that they'll listen. The WIP screens are beautiful yes and most of us realize that it doesn't mean anything in the long term but the trolls here will continue to be thick headed and arrogant in their beliefs that it's soo simple to do that it should be included. No wonder this world stands on the brink of war with it's neighbors. They just refuse to see any view but their own.

This is a video GAME. Trying to compare this to some imagined end of world scenario is just goofy-look at your history, not much has changed in relation to "brink of war!!"

i think he's making comments on stupidity and aggression and how they manifest...
as for the rest, i think it was an honest reaction of saqsons to call that guy on posting screenies from another game entirely. like when prescott punched that egg thrower? shouldn't do it but hey, goes up in my estimation. the amount of carp that gets thrown at the devs from this place would make me want to stick malware in the 4.09 patches as a final "fk u"
