View Full Version : Think I found a rather significant bug!

Before I submit a trk file and bug report, I would like to get some confirmation on this.

I made a new DF map and was testing it. I placed static ac under the camo tents on the airfields for bombers. I wanted to try out the 190's so I just started shooting at the planes under the tents.

I could not destroy any of the planes under the tents with any gun I used. I tried several different planes with big guns with no joy.

They destroy just fine with bombs and crashing into them, But no straffing.

Could someone please try this to confirm.

Thanks,

PF-Coastie

PF-Coastie, the "kevlar camoflage netting" was a problem with the original FB, and apparently hasn't been fixed in 1.1b. Go ahead and send a bug report, though this one probably won't be at the top of the "to do" list.

I saw this in another post. Don't know if they reported it or not. You should report it just to be safe,

OT Coastie have you gotten the FBdaemon to work with the new patch? I saw some others were having the same errors as me....figured I'd check since you use it also

Actually, I have not tried the FBD since the patch. Been too busy trying to learn new FM and tweaking sounds! lol

I will check it out and get back to you through PM.

Just out of curiousity, what is the FB Daemon.

Wolf FB Daemon is an online scripting program which keeps track of how many planes, pilots, ground targets etc. are destroyed. It enables the host to select how many things are destroyed before one side (usually red/allies, blue/axis) wins and the game finished, restarted or a new map loads.

Hunter I read on the Greatergreen sight that more code needs to be written into it to work with the patch. A patch for the patch - havn't seen it come out yet.

Confirmed, I was flying in a scripted server the other day, planes were hidden in tents, I could get them with bombs or rockets, but even the big guns on an IL2 could touch them.

This issue goes back to IL-2! Its been mentioned here and in Oleg's area off and on over the past two years but there has never been any kind of official response.

Sounds like, with the FBDaemon, DCG, etc, etc, the
RAF74 database stuff, Iron Skies, etc, online battle
planning support there is a good case for 1C putting
a shareware section on the add on disc.

The camo net thing has always bothered me a bit also. It really should be like the trees in perfect mode that sit along the water. You can fly right through them. Not saying that it would be accurate to fly through a net, but bullets should go right through it and not even move it. Its not important enough to have a damage profile. They should just be eye candy and nothing more.

...and once you have tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward,
for there you have been and there you long to return.
