Guys,
just have bought CB from CDV. It's great game, almost like FB. Try it. I'm surprised.

Combat Mission is an excellent turn based, simultaneous execution, tactical wargame - must confess to being curious why you would think it similar to FB.

Yes it is excellent. In fact those 2 are the only games I play for almost a year now. Though there are some games I'll look for in the near future: Battlefield Command, Harpoon4, Lock On.

The games are completely dissimiliar, one is a flight sim and the other is a hardcore simulation of ground battle during WW2 (and the Afrike Korps game is coming out soon too!!). Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord ahs been on my hdd for over 2 years now and i play it every week and via email as well, too much good fun. Barbarossa to Berlin is good as well, but a bit more boring in it's scenarios. Of course FB is the best WW2 flight sim. So besides the fact that they're both about WW2 they have nothing in common.

I have Combat Mission 2: Barbarossa to Berlin, and it's the best tactical wargame by turns I've ever had since the times of Panzer General. It's really great, but just for the patient, reflexive gamer.

Yes like rushing your tanks through th eenemy lines, look scool and is fairly acutely effective but then they get bogged, knocked out and shocked. Still it looks cool.

My favourite is blowing up houses with arty strikes, looks and sounds sensational. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Combat Mission? No offence, but it bored the arse off me.
Hidden & Dangerous is much more my cup of tea - especially now you can get the deluxe edition at a budget price.

Most likely he means they are similar in:

1. an obvious love by the developers for the subject

2. attention to detail

3. attention to historical accuracy

4. how many other games address the Eastern Front?

Different breed although still WWII combat.
It happens I like both.
I think most people(not nearly all of course) who would like FB would like combat mission too but I'm not sure of the opposite.
