Wow!

Have been playing IL2 and its follow ups for 3 years now, but this is the first time I have managed to get online. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

It was fantastic! I'm a member of GH (GH_Lucky) and we flew on Virtual pilots for some hours as a flight of four or two. I got shot down on my first two flights but then tussled with Las and P40s coming away both scathed and unscathed. FB has never felt so realistic as when we went on a sweep, dived on a few contacts, then RTB because of fuel. (I didn't even manage to shoot at anything)

I have a lot to learn, but I don't doubt I'm doing it with the right bunch of people and look forward to it.

I don't know if I'll ever go back to offline http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif!

A quick question: Are there any BoB servers out there? Or any where the IL2 is flown a lot? Whilst I fly blue mostly I do like the odd spin in the sim's namesake http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You'll find some that cater to both your whims. Also keep your eye out for coops running on those themes. Most people hosting coops will announce a rough idea of what's in the mission before launching. Note that coops add an extra note of realism... no refly http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

When I first got Il2 i tried a few missions and then went online. After that I can´t get back offline almost at all.I havent flown any campaign on IL2,tried a few mission as a Ju87 pilot on FB and a few as a 109 pilot on AEP but lost intrest somehow.I guess it´s the feeling that there is a real human flying against you that make online much more attractive.

Sounds good there Stickmonkey! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Welcome to the online flying, its indeed much better than offline flying. Although its still fun to fly an offline mission so now and then. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I recently have gone online as well and have enjoyed the experience. However I will admit That I guess I never played full real untill now and I am dealing with a huge learning curve. I stall and crash more than I get shot down.

We had a nice 4 plane (IL2's) formation on greatergreen last night in one of the winter maps and despite repeated attacks en route to the target area, maintained 75% survival rate to target. It was quite fun to defend and try to cover the others in our formation.

On greatergreen we try to have ground objectives in every map in the rotation...for both sides. So, the Sturmovik is available on most maps if you fly RED. He111's and Stukas available for blue.

But what Tbolt forgot to mention is that no one made it out of there alive. Good times in GG http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif
