We do. I'd love to fly against and with those La7s Yak3s Yak9UTs etc, with settings like those on Warclouds or the SpitsVS109s server, we dont get enough(any) of that. I don't know if its just me but it seems the online community seems doesnt pay the eastern front much regard, in spite of that, I believe a good EF server like the one I've described would rock! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_redface.gif

I second the Co-Op motion. But DF might work as long as it was set up with realistic plane sets. As the maps rotate the planesets could be limited to what would be used for the mission and reasonable opponents. Not like the huge assortments of planes as are in some servers.

Something like 3-4 plane types per side would work. And maybe rotate the whole thing through Barbarossa to Berlin to keep it from being stale. The late war stuff is nice, but it'd be fun to fly I-16's vs. Emils, too.

And maybe a map or two with the planes no one else uses: the I-185, La-7, P-63 vs. K-4, Dora's and 262?

Not everyone P1ngu http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

While everone is buzzing around trying to shoot each other down you will usually find some dedicated mud movers getting all dirty and playing in the weeds.

I spent most of the weekend hitting out of the way targets on Warclouds_WF in Jugs, FW-190s and P-51s. The only time I went looking for a fight was when we were on CAP and I was flying to keep the teams even. I flew one map where me and two others pounded over 90% of the ground targets without any interference from Blue. There were at least 20 people in the server at all times as well.

I'd be all for a mission oriented late war LW vs VVS server. Would give me a chance to flex some unfamilar skills in an IL2 cockpit. Tank hunting outside Berlin sounds right up my alley! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I like the idea of very limited planesets - people tend to team up more when flying the same plane. But why always late stuff? Why not mix it up a bit - different maps with various missions/planesets in various time periods?

IMO, for full_real setting is early war scenario the best. Gladiators, Fiats CR42, I153, TB3 mixing together, no cannons only MGs and a lot fo time to ID planes properly!

The -=VALHALLA=- Server on HL might be what you are looking for.

Features:

- Full switch

- Statistics with monthly reset and hall of fame system

- Realistic distances and historical accurate missions

- Missions are not lasting 1-2 hours, they are taking place in REAL TIME. Missions are rather dates.

- Massive ammount of targets and objectives.

- Scripted server.

As the server is quite new, there is only a 1941 Smolensk scenario, but we are building more.

let's ask Spark to reopen the WarClouds Eestern Front server http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Then I think I will fly 190.... haha do you want a wingman?

Passed my free time this weekend on 109 vs Spit trying to face huge COORDINATED attacks from allied lanes.. 5 B25 flying together (REALLY close) at 4500m with fighetsr cover etc... No way simple hackslashing lone wolf fighting would stop that things.

So we still have a lot of MISSION stuff happening online. We just need organization....

Also would be good IA bombers... not many guys like flying bombers (I dont) so we lack the bomber formatins that drove all air war in europe.

I asked osiris from zekes and wildcats, and the other famous server spits vs 109s to use his western front server for eastern front early and late war.

early
mig3 p40b-c i16 i153 vs Emils ju87

early mid
lagg3 p40e yak early vs 109f2 109f4 109g2

mid
la5 yak midwar il2 vs 109g2 g6 190a4 bf110

Late
la7 yak latewar a20 il2 vs 190g6 g10 g14, 190a6 190a8

They have a western front server that seems empty, so it would be a great idea for a eastern front server, no labels and same settings as spits vs 109s.

I do enjoy the eastern front and would really like to see a eastern front early and latewar that I ping fairley well to.

Thinking of starting the EasternHotshots server again. Maps will be Eastern Front only and running limited planesets for each year, or perhaps even shorter period. Roughly based on planes that saw enough service and most likely fought eachother in the war. (mostly around 5 planes a side in each mission, this includes groundpounders)
Main focus in years will be 42/43 (They are simply the best years IMO) and some 41 and 44 missions.

It will have limited icons and minimap path on, other than that all difficulty options on, so no speedbar either.

It wont have stats, this is gonna be dogfighting, old school http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
For those that like to support with more maps/missions, sent me a IM and we'll work something out.

Maps will be fairly straightforward, a few bases not too close to eachother, some AA and some groundtargets. So its gonna be a good place to fly for those with lesser systems. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Inspired by FatCat 99 who asked me if the server would be revived sometime.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

midwar would be good http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

also, russian aircraft really arent that great anymore, la7,i185 and yak3 still uber, but il2, yak9 yak1 really arent that good

Sorry Dude, there is WAY too many late-war servers out there. It gets real old with the same La-7/Spit 9/F4U-1C/ etc. etc. etc. servers.

What P1ngu said, early to mid war servers. NOW that seperates the men from the boys...... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif
