www.kali.net (http://www.kali.net) you can play lots of games, host them, network friendly, and tons of options. New version with even more options is being released soon, and it even has Lan game search functions. Jay at Kali will even talk to you one-on-one about support and ideas for new versions.

IL-2 plays there just fine. So do all other games.

It is something like 20 USD, registration lasts forever. I bought my copy when I was playing F22 ADF from DiD.

Re: is it better.. Not for online wars, because you can't let people join as VVS or LW.. You just have a bunch of people in a room (HL has a maximum number of people for a room and lets you see who is entering as VVS and who is entering as LW).

Kali _was_ a great program.. Let's see what Jay comes out with.

I used Kali in the days of Quake/Quakeworld.
When Kali died some years ago, a free registration was made possible for players (since the company was no more anyway), but since there were no new versions comming out, newer games were not supported, and so it faded away......

Kali has some nice features like the instant update/ping, that is nice for a quick game. But mostly FPS-players will benefit from Kali. For FB HL is first choice, since this is software made for the single purpose of flightsim-lobbies.
And moving to Kali will split the FB-"community" into 3 parts /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif (UBI, HL, Kali/TASE/..)

BTW: Lifetime-registration is at 10$ (limited time), whoever is playing other online-games besides FB should try it out (trial-key with limited time working).

Cheers, W75
