Yesterday we begun the test of new free add-on with German, British, Italian and Japanese planes (third party and own), where also is present some new ground objects (most of third party).
Also begins the test of commercial _English_ version of Pe-2 add-on (Brieffings of missions
will be only in English for any of western version of FB+AEP+PF.
Pe-2 add-on is the first of 3 relatively commercial add-ons that PROBABLY will be released till mid summer 2006.
Pe-2 is going to be released right after mentioned above free add-on, which is now in a test.

Wait for the dev.updates please

If someone play with this addon - you need to have also this add-on. No other way. or continue to play with all the previous stuff with these who also haven't it.

I did something completely ******ed last week. After reading about the announcement of MS Flight Simulator X to be released in Nov-Dec 2006, I went and bought FS 2004. I needed a quick fix of something other than IL2, you know, to mix it up a bit. OMYGOD! What a horrible mistake that was! I thought it was supposed to be good. The FM was the biggest joke ever! The planes were rather sad in their construction, and the camera can't be moved around freely. The user is confined to locked views by using the number keys.

I tried to keep an open mind but any way I sliced it, the game just sucked the big one. Well, it went straight back to Compusmart the next day. The manager was very cool and took it back no problem, chuckling under his breath.

My point is this: IL2 is simply the most unbelievably broad and refined WW2 sim ever, with absolutely nothing comparable to it. Sure, there's some new kids on the block lately, (I won't mention names) but nothing has been able to offer the sheer wealth of unbelievable well constructed aircraft and FMs that this sime has provided over the past 6 years. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's daaaaaamn close!!

Oleg's new add-on with the VERY EAGERLY AWAITED new aircraft is just the icing on the cake. Some of us have been panicking... waiting with baited breath at these new ``Prize Planes`` that will be released. A kid could do no better. At the mere mention of the words *add-on* or *new aircraft* from Oleg and co, we go nuts, we fall off our chairs, breathing becomes difficult and etc.. We are the most harcore, all-singing, undying WW2 aircraft junkies this planet has ever known, and our profound passion for this simulation and its creators will drive this industry into the future, with no end in sight. Girl-friends have walked out, marriages have gone down in flames, jobs have been lost, but happiness has always prevailed. Why? Because, Oleg and co have been there to listen.. and provide.

Thanks Oleg and co! You guys rock my world!

Peace out

And of course, the long awaited Tempest and Mossie.
Who knows the Nakajima Ki-27 will make it to us Western customers?

I will for sure buy all add-on packs that will show up in the future.
And will go for BoB when it will come out. But for sure I want to continue with Il2 even after this happens!

**** thee Oleg! Now the "let's check the ORR Forum for news once every hour" season is here again. Problems sleeping, fathers and grandfathers whining like 12-year olds, people mumbling that the answer to Life, Universe and Everything is 14 and not 42...

Please refrain youreslf from mentioning a release date! Just give us a list of the planes to be included and shut down this forum until the addon is released. Let us take the pain of waiting in solitude, isolated from the outer world, every hour beating our backs with whips once for every free plane you have given us.

Well this just sux. Now the rest of the world will pale even further in relation to this sim. For instance, my wife has not released one free add-on to the kids since they were released! No obedience add-on, no automatic room cleaning add-on, nothing.

Wonderful!! More excellent aircraft to vanquish and obliterate my many enemies from the virtual battlefields!!

What fun I shall have thundering about the sky kicking the backsides of Spits and all them others in the Italian fighters, and making precision bombing runs in Ju-88s and Mossies, and generally just making a big mess shooting at stuff!!

And I say give the Bf-109G-14 a Mg 151/20! Get rid of that Mk108 as standard! That should be a U4 conversion not a standard G-14!

Do we know if the commercial addons are going to be published by UBIsoft ? Reason being, for all grief we give UBI, at least if they publish the addons, I know I'll see them in the stores someway (Best Buy, Comp USA, online from Amazon etc.), whereas a smaller publisher might only give you an option to buy them online.

How will the new commercial addons influence online playability? We could end up with a whole range of different versions, depending on what mix of addons is installed. How does this work?

Any addition to the game is great. Many thanks!

I am wondering however if the free add on will address the respawning problem with TrackIR that is referenced in a posting on the NaturalPoint forum. (See below)

Does this also relate to how a plane appears jumpy or shaky to other on-line players?

Thanks, StkNRdr

The issue was in IL2 and they have indicated that it will be resolved in an upcoming patch for IL2. We greatly appreciate Oleg and his developers taking the time to work with us and resolve this, be sure to thank them for the work on it when the fix gets delpoyed.

It will work just like it always has, undoubtably- if you want to play in a server with version 4.09, you'd better have 4.09. If you have 4.05, you're not playing in a 4.09 server

If you want to play in a PF server, you'd better have PF. If you have PF and want to play a FB+PF planeset server, you'd better have both

Apply that logic to your question http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It's not that simple anymore with three new addons, Chuck. It gives half a dozen different possible configurations, you see. My concern is that it will divide the community even further. Try applying that logic http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I believe Oleg in his last update gave a timeline for the projects he was working on and i think it mentioned a patch after 4.03 and before the first addon that would make them compatible with each other.

Perhaps we can all play together but the folks with the addons have the additional option of flying the addon planes.

Another question about compatibility.

I see, if I want to fly with someone flying Il-10, I have to purchase Il-10 add-on.

But what about Pe-2? Already I have got unflyable Pe-2. Do I need to buy add-on?

P.S. This is theoretical question. Certanly I'll buy all add-ons. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have an idea on how to solve the problem those "russian" add-ons will cause to the ONLINE play:

While connecting to a server, the game should ask the server which add-ons are needed. Then there could be different starting modes that load and use the content of needed add-ons, but wouldn't use those add-ons not supported by the server and other players. With this property the connection would fail only if the player hasn't bought all needed add-ons.

This would encourage players to buy all add-ons, because then they would be able to play with anyone who has the latest version of merged install and everybody would be pleased. Without any compatibility between different versions some wouldn't buy those add-ons if many players played online without them.

So would it be possible to include this property to add-on installs? If I am right, that wouldn't require a lot of work.

PS. Must have the Do 335! It was not a 1946 kite but already in active service in 1944 and encountered a number of times by the Tactical Air Force. But it wouldn't be fun without a Tempest surely!

As far as online compatibility, if you've been a fan of this series I doubt that you're going to settle for not purchasing all the official addons plus the free patch, so I don't forsee much trouble finding people to play with online. Whether you liked it or not, I'm sure everyone plays with 4.02 now right ?

Just wondering if all these add-on's and patches will be "wrapped up" in a DVD. I have read about the upcomming DVD. But what will it include? I would love a DVD with Everything (no matter what the cost).
I hate loading three games and patching up and now with the upcomming add on's 3!! way to much stuff. This will also keep away new players who will need to locate all the various games and do a complicated 30 minute install process.
PS - it is 85 and sunny in Hawaii.

Having my template for the J2M3 almost ready for release this weekend, I hope they fixed the CG model glass problem for the Raiden. It's supposed to be released as a flyable version and a fix would really help increase the popularity of this plane. If not, at least I did my best to get the problem noticed! Anyway, thanks for all your hard work regardless! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Hi Oleg,

This is indeed great news and is much appreciated.

I do have a small favour to ask however.

My unit (WTE, the largest in the Southern Hemisphere if not the world http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) is now trying to put together the list of campaigns that we will will fly this year (1943) and also start creating missions.
We would love to have just some idea of what aircraft MIGHT be coming (I'm not asking you to guarantee any particular plane as I know this has burnt you in the past), but a simple.....

"You might be getting the Ju88, Mosquito and such and such, but no promises ok!!!!!"

This would make mission forecasting a lot easier and save a lot of mission creation time once the new aircraft become available.

So, any chance of some small clue as to what some of these birds are??

Thank you!

Before it is all said and done we will be chomping at the bit for BoB because we all will know that it will be better than FB... and if BoB does it all over again.. whoooo baby. AS far as compatibility issues... I dont think there will be any.. unless the add ons are too pricey ad a lot of people just chose to do without them... I doubt that... a lot the PF guys who said... "Ennnhhh I'll wait to see if I like the sim before I go out and spend the money for the GOLD pack..." are now kicking themselves and making multiple posts saying "Where can I find The AEP? When is the DVD coming out etc etc etc... They wont make that mistake again.. and neither will the guys who read their posts. This sim sells itself.. Just a taste is all it takes... No, I didn't....but I've been on this hell ride for long enough to know that you can't assume anything so I thought I'd ask the great man directly as it's not uncommon for aircraft that we all thought would be included to not make the cut.

Forced hot water, and my radiator is at the end of the line. Couple that with the fact that the only room in the place that gets solar heat all day is the room in which the thermostat is placed, and you need to keep whole palce with the excpetion of my room at 90* or so just to get my room to 60*

It's not usually 35*F in the room, last night was particularly windy and cold- the windows in that place are single pane, wooden frame. Remember the type with the cords and counterweights inside the sash? My place still hasa them

с¿?с¸бо Oleg. I'm standing by with mouse and credit card at the ready. The continued freebies are appreciated of course, but you guys need to get paid for the upcoming add-ons, too. If nothing else to pay for heating and groceries. And baby food, and car insurance, too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

Thanks too for holding to your word on the third party add-ons. I know it took resources from BoB work, and they won't directly put money in the bank. The gesture earns my respect though (not that that's worth much.) A lot of developers would not have been so honorable, especially given this sometimes whiney crew of simmers. Thanks again.

No, I didn't....but I've been on this hell ride for long enough to know that you can't assume anything so I thought I'd ask the great man directly as it's not uncommon for aircraft that we all thought would be included to not make the cut. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Mmm can't think of any that we were promised but didn't make the cut. Lots of rumored aircraft didn't but nothing that Oleg mentioned...

Hasn't happened...yet.

Oleg

I don't post much here cuz and im sure you have a lot to do, think about, and read as well, but i will say this.

I have enjoyed thousands of hours flying, from the original Il-2 Sturmovik to Pacific Fighters. Thank you and your team for all the hard work, because it can't be easy.
No complaints here, yeah maybe a bug here and there from time to time, but it sure beats all the games I had as a kid. Can you say Atari 1600?

I don't know if D-13s should be given priority though... I think only a handful were built or was it the 11? I can't remember which...

We are happy knowing that the new patch will carry greatest new opportunity for the Mediterranean scene, where finally with the new Italians airplanes the game will be much more interesting.
I express my gratitude still to Oleg and his team, but would want to only know an other thing...
What about the project's of Re2000 / Re 2001 and FIAT g.55 "centauro"..
The plan has been cancelled? .. Or it will come completed in the next ones patch?
I don't see the names than these aircrafts in the future plans not even like AI..
This is one curiosity that i want to express after the sight of these screenshots..

I think it was said that the interior models of those above weren't going to get finished to an acceptable standard, or something. They may make an appearance as AI, but not as flyable I don't think.

But we can just wait and see, I suppose.

Thank you very much. I am overjoyed for the Do-335.

-----------------------------------------------
Flyable aircraft:
Do-335A-0
Ju-88A4
Tempest MK.V
Mosquito FB.MK.VI*
MC-200 III
MC-202 III
MC-202 VII
MC-202 XII
MC-205 I
MC-205 III
J2M3*
Bf-109K4 C3 1.98Ata
Spitfire MK.IX 25lbs
------------------------------------------------

It will be interesting to see how Do-335, Tempest and Mosquito compare to each other.

Although, for the screenshots, I am afraid I will need a new machine. I am still running the game decently on an old HP Laptop with a 1st generation ATI Mobility Radeon and 16 Mb Video RAM. And that, in beginning of 2006, is really great.

I think that the insertion of these airplanes in game is only one "DECISION" of programmers..
Much job approximately these Italian airplanes(skin, cockpits, 3d models of planes, informations) has been also carried out from simple pilots that have this p***ion for the Simulator of the Maddox. (I speak about some people but i don't want to write the names).
The insertion of the Italian aircrafts has become nearly a dream for many virtual pilots, we wait for them from a lot time.
I'm not writing to make controversy, but I would want a clarification.. It's correct?
Now i don't know the reasons for which this plan referred to Re2001 /Re 2000 and finally g.55 has been discarded...

I think it was said that the interior models of those above weren't going to get finished to an acceptable standard, or something.
Which thing means that the inner models were not acceptable? Which are the standards?
If these cockpits were outside standard, it wasn't possible to modify them in order to render them corrected?
If the programmers need helps, there is many people disposed to helps in order to render this job complete.
If there is the necessity to pay also 20$ for this patch many people would be content to pay them. (i speak about many pilots in my group).
On condition that these models ( re2001/ re 2000 and g55) come ended .
I have many screenshots of the jobs carried out on these airplanes, the same jobs that have been carried out from Oleg on other aircrafts complete in all the game.
It would be a waste leave them not development...
These are the screnshots at high
quality..

Which thing means that the inner models were not acceptable? Which are the standards?
Stnadrds are not just about visual quality, you know. You may present a great looking model, which won't be possible to insert into the game because it does not fit into technical requirements.

If these cockpits were outside standard, it wasn't possible to modify them in order to render them corrected?
Who, in your opinion, should do this?
And, by the way, the listed by you planes have problems not only with the cockpit models.

Sure the only person that can correct these problems is Oleg, we have confidence in all the team of programmers.

Whos knows with the other birds, I was assuming this isn't the last patch (not including the add-ons), but then again after re-reading Olegs posts in the last six months, of course theres the Norway, Slovakia, Italy, and Burma maps all in the works. I would assume Oleg had confirmed that they would definetely in the game with the developers before they started...

One plane we didn't see was the B6N1 which has been in the works for a longggg time. Its a IJN torp bomber so was used almost exclusively in the Pacific, but I don't think it would be too out of place in the Manchuria add-on. At least not as much as an Italian type or an Avia B.534...
