I'm looking for a good budget joystick to play PF when it comes out. What is the best entry level joystick to buy if you're a newbie?

Thanks,

Yep, that's a good one. Got the Cyborg Gold myself and the EVO is prolly better http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Don't buy Logitech, unless you like your joysticks to break after a couple months and you're forced to buy a replacement.

I'll echo the sentiment of others in this thread say a Saitek Evo or Saitek Cyborg FFB. If you're on a really tight budget, the Cybord 3D Rumble is a step down from the full FFB, but still a great value. Mine's been used extensively for two years with everything working like new. My Logitech, on the other hand, had problems just weeks after I bought it and soon after that the rudder died completely. Don't buy Logitech.

Yeah, I used to use Logitech joysticks. They all got broker after a couple of months. Currently I'm using a really old Microsoft Sidewinder. It's worked perfectly for almost seven years now!

My Logitec Farce Feedback stick gave me a whole 4 months actual service. The brutal truth is there just isn't a reliable budget stick out there. Suck it up and go Cougar or better yet, CH

Sorry, nobody wants this to be a different answer more than me!

Thanks for the info on the Saitek Cyborg evo I'll go look for some info on it right away. How, do you think it compares to the thrustmaster Top Gun Fox Pro? I found one for cheap here... Thrustmaster Top Gun Fox 2 Pro (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000062SSO/qid=1097977041/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl23/103-8817601-9388658?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846)

I would buy a Saitek X-45 for starters.
Rebuilts are sometimes sold cheap.
Its a combo thottle and stick.
For better enjoyment you need the buttons that this X-45 has to setup without the keyboard being used while flying.
While not the best or worse. It is an excelent starter setup.

Not great but not bad. I had the HOTAS version for a while (Topgun Afterburner II) and found it satisfactory.
