Hi guys,

As you can see from this thread (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/7491079995), several people were taken to Montreal to see Assassin's Creed before release and HairyArse from the Eurogamer forum was one of the lucky ones. His thoughts have now gone live on the Eurogamer website and can be found here:

Cheers Ubirazz,

It really bugs me though that at the end the guy says "So in conclusion, before my trip to Montreal, Assassin's Creed wasn't anywhere near being on my games radar"

Errr so this guy wasnt even a fan! and he got...

Picked!
Flown from yorkshire (In economy he adds, how ungrateful)!
Put up in a luxury hotel!
Fed!
Chauffered around!
AND got to play AC!

And he wasnt even a fan?

anthony687uk, I wish all fanboys would go lol, to the casual gamer this game really is under the radar for many. It's also a good thing because the journalist gave great unbiased preview of the game from not knowing what to expected. He comments his concern about combat becoming repetitive and various bugs he encountered, but aside from these factors he was pretty amazed from the game claiming its contention of become GOTY.

Keep in mind that HA isn't a journalist, but his preview is certainly excellent writing. I think it says a lot about the game for it to now be on his "to buy" list after having hands on time with it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

EDIT: While links are being passed around, here's another writeup (http://www.oxm.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=354&start=150) by a mod of the OXM forums.

i dont really think it says something.
assassin's isn't a mediocre game (based from what we know and saw), so it doesn't mean anything....
ppl dont need be fans or over hayped about it to love it after a quick try, coz it's not a mediocare game.
so i dont think his preview says any thing, at least not for me.

Both writers mention tearing in the game and how it has been removed......

Can someone fill me in on what tearing is? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Get a peice of paper hold it with one hand on one end and the other hand on the other end. Simply move the right hand down while keeping left hand still. You will then have observed tearing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif lol but i don't think thats what the Game term of it is.

Look up V Sync on google. You'll find a nice image the circles what tearing is. I've never paid it too much thought.

He made the game sound pretty good to me. I thought the stalking part was funny. Sucks for him, but funny. Anyway we had to expect some small problems with the game.

Direct from Wikipedia http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
"Page tearing is a phenomenon in video where a previously rendered frame overlaps a newly rendered frame, creating a torn look as two parts of an object - a wall, for example - don't line up. Page tearing is common while playing video games and watching videos on LCD and plasma displays.

The use of vertical synchronization (V-sync) helps prevent page tearing. With V-sync, the previous frame is held before rendering the next frame, creating a smoother look. However, V-sync can reduce the frame rate."

so its like an image being distorted kinda

Yes!!! This was the one thing I was worried about because whenever Altier would be really high up and look at the city it would have a lot of tearing. And my T.V. does it a lot.
