For me oen of the main reason to buy '46 is Ki43II. I'm curious as how Ki43II differs from older Ki43I as for FM, performance and maneurability? Has it better rear view?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'm dislectic, so please bear with me...

The Ki43-II is about 20km/h faster on the deck and its absolute topspeed lies 40km/h higher (530km/h vs 490km/h), however its climbrate is also 2m/s lower and due to the weight increase its turnrate decreased by about 3 secs. It certainly does handle quite differently compared to its predecessor.

If you want to compare them directly then download the new 4.07 IL2Compare...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

There is something in the shadows - it's the tiger waiting for you.

Different velocity and rate of fire make the guns something you need to get used to as well. I think I'll still prefer the early model or the Ki-27, but I imagine some people will do very well for themselves in the model II.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Hmm, I don't have 1946 yet, but IL2Compare shows KI-43II as having two Brownings... why? I have seen the trailers and they are firing what looks to be brownings (red tracer). Why don't they have the Ho-103? Now I know the two weapons are similar, but ingame the Ho-103 has a different tracer (look at army planes like Ki-43IC and Ki-61). Did they fix the tracer from the trailer? Was it just missed and a mistake? Or are they trying to represent better quality Ho-103s? I wonder.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

It also appears it has some fuel tank protection too. And about the rearview,
('normal view') with hatswitch:

About the tracers, i imagine they didnt fix it for the same reason they didnt fix the Fiat Cr.42 tracers .... whatever it is. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

for me they have not only the wrong tracercolor.
the Ki-43-IIs and the Cr.42 are modelled in game with the US .50cal Brownings http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
i hope they will change that the next patch......... like the He162C&D canons.

about the Oscar II:
the two versions have the same performance.
and their divespeedlimit is the same as the one of the Osacr I.
