Skies of Valor hosted by RS squadron had recently update maps with mission objectives and targets for ground attack and bomber crews. Low lag, historical planesets, cockpit on with externals.

Stats availible at
http://www.skiesoffire.org/modules.php?name=RStatsII

We need your help populating the server, its a good one. There are very few populated servers serving the middle ground ie cockpit on and externals. Server is paid for for awhile with donations and need pilots to help us getting it going and keep it going, With many arcade and full diff servers, this is good middle ground for newer pilots to transfer over to pit on, or those lacking hardware ie track ir.

Thank you for your time and Thank you RS for hosting.

I was flying on SOF, but found it a bit "arcade like" and got frustrated with the amount of kills i'd "lost" with some of the shoulder shooters on there. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

I'd never really flown with "cockpit on" till Taipan, Pappy and Baz and all at RS Squad made us aware of Skies of Valour. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Spent some time doing bombing runs, and to be honest, it was a breath of fresh air to be able to "fly" online, for an extended period, without a "blue schwarm" of about 10 planes on your 6 all firing trying to get a kill and a few points http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

I have spent as much time as I can on Skies of Valour, and now see that the stats are up and running, pity they don't show the carrier I managed to sink yesterday, or the couple of zeros I got with the top turret but to be honest, I'm not in it for the points http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif

I would also like to thank all at RS for hosting their server to the il2 community, I have donated to SOF, and will continue to support their efforts in keeping these servers running.

Everyone jump on board, and keep these great servers populated http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Yes you wont see many shoulder firers or kill stealers in SOV it is very clean. Its a good place for some laid back flying without having to have all switches on.

They would do great service to their ground pounders on the server by adding top 10 ground attackers and their stats to the main page. Other then that its good they took the time to add objectives which takes a lot of the airquakeness out of a server and adds emmersion.

Its coming up on UK Ded2 status for a good middle of the road setting server and it has been populated as of late. A dedicated following is all any server needs and the rest takes care of itself.

I'm pretty new to this game (been flyin offline couple months, online about a month) and I LOVE this sever. Having the cockpit on makes the dogfights so much better than in SOF, for me anyway. Mostly, I just die, but I'm loving it so far.

Thanks gents!

It is a great sever and the maps are made to be very low lag. It is not a very competitive sever so there is very little if and kill stealing/ shoulder shooting. try it once or twice and if you like it come back if not then don't

I haven't had any online time in a while, so it was a nice change. I'll be back again for sure.

You referring to the IP address of the server? Im sure if you ask here http://skiesoffire.org/modules.php?name=Forums you can find out. In Hyperlobby its called Skies~of~Valor. Find it and add it to your friends list and it will always be at the top.

Not trying to rain on the parade or anything, but dont forget to mention the fact that they are mod friendly...more so than others as it turns out (that i know of)

Allowes not only sound mod but also those new flyble AI planes, P-36(Hawk 75A3) and Mökö Morane for ex. (God knows what else slips in in the process)

Like i said, not trying to start anything, but that was atleast to me very dissepointing and took me completly by suprise that they allow it, since i normaly like that server, and im not trying to badmouth the server or RS for that matter, but i think its good to know info considering all the yahoo as of late regarding "all that".

I do hope they come arround soon and change theire minds about it. If i got it wrong i do appolegize...i hope i got it wrong.

Very good and fun server otherwice.

Skies of Valor has become my "first call" server if I fly online. I was on quite a bit over the holidays, flying as "johnnybassman" there.

Great server. Pretty much everything on my wish list. You can get into the action without flying for hours. I don't use or care about externals, but I like icons because they make up for what I can really see vs. what the game can display.

I think you may need a little more horsepower. It can get pretty laggy around the action especially when there a lot of AAA.

LOL that makes it a bad server in your eyes? Someone switched from blue to red and forgot to change what country they're flying?

Give me a break.

The thing is markings are important for a semi-historical planeset.

theres nothing worse than coming up on a 109 with RAF markings or a Spitfire with Black corosses on, it completely ruins the immersion.

I am a big stickler for correct markings, and I know many others are. I like the server to have strict rules about correct markings.

It can also confuse someone who is attacking the plane, which is wrong, especially if there are no icons..

Nothing wrong with being a stickler for correct markings. SoV has icons on, friendlies at 5km and enemies at 2km, so there's little chance of shooting down the wrong plane. But, I get where you are coming from. It is kinda weird firing on a Allied plane with Axis markings, and I'd prefer that correct markings be used, but they still blow up the same. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Although mod friendly they are 'anti-cheat'. The talk on team speak routinely express their distain at the idea of modifying the performance or capiabilities of any of the aircraft ( even calling for life bans on people changing damage models performance etc!).

I think they are trying to walk the middle ground of getting the most out of the sim but they understand how easily it could be ruined. I guess its up to the integrity of the players (as in all sports) to refrain from mods that could be concidered 'cheats'

I personally don't use any of the mods, but I have never felt that I have been disadvantaged at playing at this site because of this.
I enjoy flying at Skies of valor. It's fun, fast paced and friendly. Get teamspeak and get involved!

I've been enjoying this server lately too. My online time is way down these days so it's nice to fly with the somewhat relaxed settings. I feel like I need to fly almost daily to stay sharp enough for full-switch.

FWIW I'd like it even more if they'd turn off extrnals, which I never use, to take away the F6 factor.. but that's a small quibble to me. It's a fun server and seems like a good crowd.

PS +1 to Xiaoblu on correct markings for immersion.

Is there any official way to contact administrators of Skies of Valor? I got banned and the forums are dead on their web page. My ip is 94.113.98.93 which is a shared IP in my area so probably more people could be banned. My screen name at the time was petbse. Is there any possible way how to get unbanned? The ban is still in place after one month.

Ubisoft have nothing to do with the administration of any community run servers. If you're not getting a response on their forums I'd suggest using their forum private message system to contact an administrator or global moderator.
