The world will change when you are ready to pronounce this oath:
I swear by my Life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man,
nor ask another man to live for the sake of mine.

Was going thru old favorites and found this and a slew of other good sites, like this one for those of you that like stories.

That looks like the most fun float plane to fly in FB.

I went up against one using a P11c but it would outrun me.

Do you guys seem to know that the only AR196 still left is in Bulgaria? In the aviation museum in Plovdiv?

"An attack against a unit of Flying Fortresses was something like controlled suicide...Sometimes 50, Sometimes 80 machine guns were firing at you... You attempted to close you eyes & continue to fire, Frightened to death, Frightened to death."

Actually, I can tell you its story. So, it was used as a sub chaser in Bulgaria. When the communists took up, the plane was conserved and made an exponate in the Navy museum in Varna. But then somebody decided this was a Fascist plane, it chased russian subs... So they destroyed it. The recreation of the plane was a very hard task. But luckily, it was put together and is now the only left in the world, as far as I know.

Yes, We had De520, Messerschmitts, but most of them were scuttled, melted for alluminium spoons or given to Yugoslavia. A very bad story... Politicians.../i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
