Was browsing russian forums and came across of few posts by OM.

One of those comments sounded like this: 2.8 Ghz should be ok and at least GF4. Other comments led me to conclusion that new sim is going to be much more CPU consumptive then FB ever was..due to whole alot more complex missions mechanizm and more comples DM and FM.

Bottom line, ladies and gentlemen...start saving now /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Oh, God that's depressing /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif When I got my ti4600 it was the king. I've finally settled into resignation that it's currently just competitive w/ newer cards; but seeing my card listed as a Minimum System Requirement just makes me want gargle w/ Drano...

I know this is 2005 we're talking about but still.. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

BTW, I've been enjoying your servers Ivan. Can't wait to see that new map you're working on /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Ivan,

We know how the minimum system runs FB though. If a 2.8 is what he recommends for BOB. It will mean you need a 4.0g../i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

crazy, did OM say anything about 64-bitness for BoB? The 2.8Ghz doesn't rule out this. The first AMD 64-bit CPUs are less than 2.8Ghz, even if they are P~rated like 3000++.

Not true Buzz, Oleg been saying since day one that GF3 Ti 500 was recommended for FB and at least 1.2Ghz CPU... Also he mentioned 512 of RAM is desirable...Which is true...how did GF2 MX, 256MB and PIII 800 ended up on the box i have no idea. Game scheduled on late 2005...more likely it will come out before XMas..or maybe even in the beginning of 2006... that`s over a year from now. One thing for sure...todays systems will be more likely just average for BOB.. Playable but not on "perfect" settings. By the way.. perfect water will be a MUST in BOB /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

No Luthor, nothing about 64bit. But i have a feeling that it will be supported...that would make sence, wouldn`t it?

By the time it comes out, our computers will be worthless for anything but word, excel and forum spamming.

64 bit compatible ? I don't need it, bacause even in 2005 I'm not planning to build system with more then 4 GB RAM.

Hmmm. - my machine will be an excellent whining platform at that time. Hell I might even go back to Windows Pinball or backgammon...

"much more CPU consumptive then FB ever was"

Interesting about that and then to hear that 500 aircraft can be flying at same time....

Wonder how that can be?

Better have a good dedicated server from the start http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We have atleast 2 years to save. No need to worry about upgrading yet. I will likely run it with an ATI Radeon 15000 512mb and that will be a "crappy card".

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.</center>
