Hi all,

I am pleased to announce that Mission Mate v1.2 is now available for download at airwarfare.com at the link below.

http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm

A very special thank you to Filip Skora for all the testing done with this version (v1.2) to overcome non-English formatting standards.

Here is a rough breakdown of the new version.

New In This Version 1.2

"Bug Fixes"

The previous version of Mission Mate did not work with non-English regional and/or language settings with MS Windows due
mostly to a difference in formatting standards. This version (1.2) resolves all of the issues that were related to this
problem, so now all European users will be able to use Mission Mate also.

"New Features"

Multiple Waypoints:

Mission Mate now offers an additional multiple waypoints method of placing waypoints for both player and AI flight groups.
Now both player and AI flight groups may have as many waypoints placed on the map, as you desire. Each of these points may
be edited in a number of ways directly from the map interface including the use of a new pop-up menu. Please read the help
file for a thorough explanation of this new feature.

Saving Missions:

Saving missions from the €œQuick Mission Generator€ interface has been improved to include not only single player missions
but also and option for saving the mission as a co-op. In addition to this Mission Mate now offers you the option for
generating a mission briefing/description either automatically or by typing your own description or as a combination of both.

Airbase Anti Aircraft Fire:

Airbase anti aircraft guns can now be placed on a gun per gun basis so you may now have anything between 1 €" 6 guns in
use by selecting individually which ones you wish to use.

Aircraft Taking Off From Airbases:

You the user can now select what type of aircraft you wish to be taking off from an airbase and also what weapon load out
you wish for those planes. You may also define whether you wish to have 1 or 2 flight groups taking off and the number of
planes you wish to be in those groups.

Launching Forgotten Battles:

You may now launch Forgotten Battles directly from the Mission Mate main window.

"Enhancements"

Waypoint Icons:

I have completely recoded the method for handling the waypoint icon graphics. The result is a much more fluid feel to
placing waypoints and each point may now be moved from one point to another with a drag and drop action. This is a great
improvement from the previous release.

Waypoint Icon Size:

You may now select between 3 different sizes for waypoint icons, small, medium and large.

New Maps:

Two new maps have been included, Smolensk and Desert. More maps will follow.

I'm sorry that I didn't have time to do more than 2 new maps.

I hope you all enjoy.

Cheers, CrazySchmidt. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

jobace,

If you still have problems with this version I would be interested to know what they are, so if you don't mind drop me a email to missionmate@msn.com and tell me a bit more.

I'm trying out your program now for the first time. I can already say I really like it. I prefer this over UDQMB, I find that way too complex. Missionmate is alot easier to use. I always wanted to make a campaign, but never had the patience with the FMB. Thanks for the program. Do you not have a website?

Hi DD_LL,

I'm glad to see you're enjoying MM.

No, I unfortunately I do not have a web site. At the moment I am trying to keep Mission Mate a zero cost project.

I have also sent a reply to the email you sent me through missionmate@msn.com

Is there a full " How to use this " instruction set somewhere? I wonder what order of things onemust work in to get a simple mission doneor to edit a mission already in the game( this could come in handy when pacific Fighters comes out to edit in new a/c into existing ersatz Pacific Missions) Also how do you get skins option to work - do I need to copy all of my skins into this Missiom Mate ? Thanks!

My first question is have you read the help file?

If you have and you are still uncertain how to use a certain feature email me at missionmate@msn.com and I will help you with what ever problems you are having using Mission Mate.

Yes, providing that PF uses the same or similar mission file type.

Boy do I like the easy way this works to edit existing missions ( changing 190s to 109s! Wunderbar!) but I still haven't found a tutorial for designeing a complete mission ( I'm slow but I have read all the readmes...& haven't found a "Start here"....or this is how markings works)Also when editing existing missions is thee a way to change the maps???
Will look forward to additions when PF comes out!!

Ok I found the tutorial ( I should have examined the "Programs"more closelyhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gifMission Mate Help( finally ) & am in midst of printing it all out( lots of paper going thru the printer at the moment!)- looks like a long read! May I ask if there is anyway to have an icon set on my desk top for this...or is info on that in the tutorial? Many thanks for your efforts!
