Hey, I am relatively new to the IL2 series and I own the IL2FB gold pack. I played a month or two ago, and stopped cuz of school. But now it is summer and I am free, I am upgrading my comp so it can run PF and I will soon be reteaching myself most things.

My question is, is the Bristol Beaufighter or Blenheim flyable, because they are 2 of my favourite planes. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

If not I can live with the Mosquito, it's cool too. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Beaufighter yes.
Blenheim in game but not flyable.

There is a beaufighter campaign in the missions section here and 27 pages of missions( some for Beaufighter) here:

We have the Beaufighter Mark 21 which is the Australian license build version which is remarkably similar to the Beaufighter Mark X but without a radar and I believe using U.S. made P&W Radials. Its a really nice plane to fly. Very stable, armed to the teeth, and very tough. Not much for manueverability but it'll get the job done when it comes to blasting stuff to bits.

The Beaufighter is part of Pacific Fighters.
I don't recall it being in one of the IL2/FB patches.

If you get Pacific Fighters, you can add that to IL2/FB*, and that'll give you the Beau.

*PF can be added to IL2/FB, or used as a stand-alone package.

so you guys would say, if used as a fighter, the beaufighter is a boom and zoom plane?

Hmmm... maybe? What's the Vne for the plane, i.e. at what airspeed does it break apart?

In the Pacific, yes. Its a capable B&Z fighter against early to mid Japanese fighters. But once you start facing the Ki-84, your toast no matter what you do.

In Europ, she is toast VS anything the Axis fly. Even a the much more manuverable and faster P-38 has a hard time in Europ in 44 and 45.
